"Please"

Please, don't ask me if I'm over it yet.
I'll never be over it.
Please, don't tell me he's in a better place.
He is'nt here with me.
Please, don't say at least he isn't suffering.
I haven't come to terms with why he had to suffer at all.
Please, don't tell me you know how I feel.
Unless you have lost a child.
Please, don't ask me if I feel better.
Bereavement isn't a condition that clears up.
Please, don't tell me at least you had him for
so many years.
What year would you choose for your child to die?
Please, don't tell me God never gives us more than we can bear. Please, just say you are sorry. Please, just say you remember my child, if you do.
Please, just let me talk about my child.
Please, mention my childs name.
Please, just let me cry.

"I'M FREE!!!"

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play,
Tasks left undone, must stay that way,
I've found peace at the close of the day
If my parting has left a void-
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full-I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, my loved one's touch,
Perhaps my time seems too brief
Don't lengthen it now with grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now; He set me free.

This poem was written for D.J. by his cousin. They were very close.

"A Poem To My Buddy!"

You were a special Angel sent from God above,
to spread all your happy love.
You touched everyone in a special way,
none ever had anything bad to say.
We all prayed to our Higher Power,
to help you in your final hour.
God saw fit to take your life,
it cut our hearts like a knife.
But you're finally where you want to be,
No needles, no pills, no doctors to see.
Forever a Fisherman you will be!
I'll always remember the good times we had!
Love Always,
Anna Rae

"I Did Not Die"

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars, that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
