Uncle Matt-
Did you fall asleep behind the wheel
or did you get something in your eye?
Did somebody do something horrible to you
that made you drive away and cry?
If you were coming home for Christmas
we cooked a feast for you.
We had cookies, presents, and sang Christmas songs
but we wanted you to sing too.
Where were you driving to?
I guess we'll never know.
We waited for you on Christmas
but I guess you couldn't show.
It must've been impossible because
it was the day after you passed away.
So we try to remember the happy times
and funny things that you would say.
If you fell asleep behind the wheel
we won't be mad at you.
There could be so many other things
that are worse and you could do.
LIKE: Drinking & driving or using drugs,
or even just clowning around.
But you did none of these or anything else;
so no answers have been found.
We love you much and miss you lots
but don't you cry for us.
We're down here crying over you
and reminiscing for this loss.
We'll see you again someday, somehow-
but for now we have to let go.
Don't ever forget how much we care
or how much we love you so.
