WILLIAM HARP was born 1780ca in Granville Co., NC.  Believe he died after 1830 probably in Overton Co., Tn.  He married CHARLOTTE HARRISON 11-5-1804 in Granville Co., NC.  She was the daughter of JAMES & WILLIE REDDIN HARRISON, born 1785ca and died 1868ca in Christian County, Missouri.

     One William Harp from Overton Co., Tn. served in the War of 1812 as a private in Captain Pearce Co.I, Batt. N., 3rd Regt. Tennessee Militia infantry, commanded by Major Wm. Woodfolk.  It is believed this was our William.

     From Granville Co. NC, William and Charlotte migrated to Overton Co., Tn about 1810.  They were still in Overton Co. in 1830 where they were found on the federal census.  That ws the last time William showed up on any records we can find.

     By 1832 it is believed Charlotte and family were in Crawford Co., Missouri where her daughter Sarah married that year.  In 1838 Charlotte was included in the tax list in Madison County, Arkansas.  By 1850 Charlotte was living with her son Thomas in Madison County, Arkansas.  In 1858 Charlotte sold land in Taney County, Missouri.  She died by 1868 as her estate was settled in January 1869 in Christian Co., Missouri.  Her son Thomas was administrator of her estate.  The children of William and Charlotte Harrison Harp:  (* indicates my line).

     12. James Madison, 1829ca - 1804. Married Elizabeth Guthrie 1850.



     (11) *     THOMAS JEFFERSON HARP

     Son of William Harp and Charlotte Harrison, born 7-4-1828 in Overton County, Tennessee.  Died 5-31-1910 in Madison County, Arkansas.  He is buried at Clifty, Arkansas.  Married (1) Celia Harp; (2) * Rhoda Wright; (3) Isabelle Gilbert.

     (1)  Celia Harp.  A witness on pension record stated Celia was a distant cousin to Thomas.  Also that Celia died shortly after their marriage, leaving no children.

     (2) *  Rhoda Wright.  Born 1-19-1834 in Alabama according to census records.  She died in October 1860 in Carroll County, Arkansas.  She and Thomas married in 1850ca I believe Madison County, Arkansas.  They had four (4) known children.

     (3)  Isabelle Gilbert.  Born 1-1-1838 in Polk County, Missouri and died 12-8-1928.  They had nine (9) known children.

     Thomas served in the Union Army during the Civil war.  That records shows places of residence since the war were:  Christian County, Missouri until 1879; Wichita, Kansas until 1883; Madison County, Arkansas remainder of his life.

     (1)  *  WYATT MADISON HARP

     Son of Thomas Jefferson Harp and Rhoda Wright.  Born 7-3-1851, Dade County, Missouri, died 12-7-1907 Vian, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma and buried at the Box Cemetery near Vian. Married DELITHA CUMILA "QUEENY" BRASUELL 8-25-1872 in Springfield, Green County, Missouri.  She the daughter of Robert Brasuell and Susannah Tabor, born 1-19-1854 Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois and died 1-30-1925 Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas.  Buried Macedonia Cemetery near Uniontown, Arkansas. Their children:

     2. * Armintie Katherine, 1875-1956. Married James Henry Walters 1899.
