I got Cori when he was 2mo. old. He is now nine. I never put him through any formal training. We tried to once but it didn't work mainly because of the person who was to be doing the training. When he was finished with Cori, it took me 2years to get my loveable freind back. Cori would go to his corner and not come out even for attention. It was real rough there for awhile. So the only training he has is what I was able to do through a lot of love and attention when he would allow it. Now I have a bond with him that can't be broken. He has become my very big suck. He even thinks he's human. To the point he wants on mom's lap to get cuddles. On the floor is not good enough. I have been told that I was nuts for letting this to happen but I don't think I am. The way things have turned out I don't have a pet, I have a son who would protect me with his life if necessary. You know how an average boy can find a mud puddle, well so can Cori. He then rolls in it and then comes in the house and brings his mud with him. Don't you just love it when they do that and then look at you as if to say,"I didn't do anything wrong". At 9years old Cori still thinks he's a pup. You can't tell him any different. I hope to have him for a few more years.
Leave it up to me, at the age of 46 I find out that I love working with silk flowers. That was done by accident. I was trying to save money with my wedding. trying to take shortcuts where I could. I went out on a major pricing trip. For just a simple headpiece, the lowest price I found was 75.00. A caketopper was close to the same price. For the cake I wanted I was looking at about 150.00 and that was for a cake that would only serve 50 people. that wasn't including the show cake. That would have taken the price up over 300.00. We won't even discuss the wishingwell. That is money we didn't have. Making the things I wanted I saved over 700.00 including my wishingwell. I was even able to find a friend that could make my cakes for me. For both cakes it cost me 125.00. For two headpieces 15.00, the caketopper 10.00 and my wishingwell was 70.00. The most cost for that was the lace. There is at least 12metors of lace. Well this was the beginning of me working with silk flowers. Since then I have done centerpieces, wallhangings, corsages, barretts, and a friend of mine's wedding. The projects just keep coming. I have been told that I should turn this into a business. If I do that I'm afraid I will end up with a block to my imagination. My ideas come from my mind's eye. I don't want that to happen. Don't get me wrong, if you came to me and asked me to do you something and gave me the colours to work with and left the rest up to me, I wouldn't turn you down.
