Nielsen Quarter Horses is a family oriented endeavor.  We have a small breeding farm located in the Champlain Valley of Vermont and are proud members of the AQHA Breeder Referral Program.  We are in the town of Hinesburg located 15 miles south of Burlington.  Our breeding goal has been to produce a performance bred prospect; we had largely focused on reining and cutting with our late stallion, Docs Zephyr. His foals all showed great athleticism, combined with a good mind. We purchased Brennas Lil Jack ('99 dun horse) as a replacement stallion prospect when Docs Zephyr was put down. Kid is sired by Brennas Kid and out of a wonderful producing Hollywood Jac 86 daughter. He has produced 30+ foals to date - and is a 100% color producer; we are confident that he is homozygous dun... and we are willing to bank on that. If you breed and do not get a colored AQHA foal, you may rebreed the following year and the stud fee is waived. If you are looking to breed for color, Kid provides a popular option with an excellent pedigree as part of the package. He is also APHA and ApHC listed.

Our late stallion and reference sire, Docs Zephyr, was sired by AQHA champion, Doc's Benito Bar and out of Music Maker Cody, a full sister of the great reining horse, Topsail Cody. Topsail Cody became the fourth stallion to reach the million dollar sire milestone (1998) with the NRHA.

Our current stallion, Brennas Lil Jack, was sired by NRHA Futurity Champion, Brennas Kid and out of Miss Kilo Jack, an outstanding producing daughter of the great reining horse, Hollywood Jac 86. Brennas Lil Jack (aka Kid) is a dun stallion who has completed his AQHA ROM, NRHA COM and has won the Pickering Open Classic as well as having won bronze & pewter trophies. To date, Kid has produced 30+ offspring; all colored. Be sure to check in with us to see our new foal crop each spring and check out Brennas Lil Jack's current offspring available each summer/fall.

Our stallion fees are not expensive because we want the horses to be available to everyone... our real happiness stems from calls from satisfied customers... something that money can't buy! Our goal is to raise top quality performance horses with good minds. We also strive to support our local community and have worked hand-in-hand with the Enosburg Lions Club for a number of years so that they might have a youngster available to raffle during the Vermont Dairy Day Festival around Memorial Day each year as well as participating with our local library as participants in their lecture series.

Our mares feature the bloodlines of Topsail Cody, Okie Leo, Corona Cody, Great Pine, Doc N Jose, Custom Crome, Peppy San Badger, Blondy's Dude, Doc's Benito Bar, ARC Sparkle Surprise, Mr Gold Pine Jac and Hollywood Jac 86.  Nielsen Quarter Horses is dedicated to raising quality prospects at affordable prices.  We invite you to explore our website and stop in to see our horses.  Check back for current updates on our stallions offspring.  Thanks for stopping by!
