Okay, this is it, my recipe page! I wish I had more time to spend in the kitchen to tell you the truth but I don't! :o)
I've included a few simple recipes for those of you who appreciate the simplicity of cooking, like me! hee hee These are my favorites and are pretty tasty, kid approved of course by my finicky toddlers!!!


~~~BANNOCK~~~

This is an old Indian favorite and really tasty! The kids love it and it is a tradition in my family!

3 cups (750 mL) all purpose flour
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
2 tbsp (30 mL) baking powder
1/4 cups (50 mL) butter or margarine melted
1 1/2 (375 mL) water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees C.
Measure flour, salt and baking powder into large bowl. Stir to mix.
Pour melted butter and water over flour mixture. Stir with fork to make a ball. Place on flat surface and knead gently like bread oh, about 15 times! Pat the dough down into a flat circle about 2 cm ( 1 inch for you yankees!!) thick.
Bake on greased baking sheet oven for about 25 minutes flipping it over once after about 15 minutes....viola and presto! Instant bread to go with your meals!
You can also add blueberries if desired or top with jam!!! Yummmmmm!!!

~~~Speedy Chicken A La King~~~

Okay, this is the fastest recipe I know of how to make chicken a la king, one of my childrens faves!!!


1/3 cup (75 mL) Miracle Whip Salad Dressing
2 tbsp (30 mL) flour
1 cup (250 mL) milk
2 cups (500 mL) diced cooked chicken
1/2 red pepper chopped
1 cup (250 mL) sliced mushrooms
1 cup (250mL) frozen peas
dash of pepper (and whatever other spices you want to get creative with!)
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) Minute Rice prepared according to instructions on the box!

Mix together salad dressing, flour and milk. Microwave on HIGH power for 3 - 4 minutes until sauce is thickened.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook mixture on medium heat on stove until heated.
Serve over prepared rice.
You could also serve this one over toast or noodles!!!
