| This figurine was made as a tribute to Sam's son. One of the saddest times in Sam's life came when his son, Philip was killed an automobile accident on September 6, 1990. The loss of his son was devasting and Sam spent many hours praying for guidance and looking to family and friends for support. "I was overseas when I heard about my son's death", Sam remembers. "Just one phone call, and my son was gone. I couldn't believe it. I thought, 'Dear God, How am I ever going to get through this, what am I going to do?'" Sam put his heart and mind to work creating a piece in honor of his beloved child. Now "Going Home" is one of the most cherished in the collection. |
