Apple Crisp
This page was created for my friend Terri who calls me every fall and asks for my apple crisp recipe. Well, I received the inevitable e-mail a few days ago asking for the recipe.
So, Terri, here it is. Be sure to save this link in your "favorites" so that you can have the recipe whenever you need it!
Filling:
4 cups cut
apples (you can also substitute other fruits including rhubarb)
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup water
Topping:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup raw rolled oats
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Topping: Combine flour, oats, and sugar. Mix well. With fork, stir in butter to make a crumbly mixture.
Filling: In lightly greased 8X8X2 baking dish, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and water. Stir to mix well.
Sprinkle topping evenly over filling. Bake uncovered 35 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Serve warm. (I prefer it with vanilla ice cream on top!)
