This is the oldest photo I could find. I assume that it was taken approximately 1934. Gordon (my Dad) is the little fellow on Jerry's shoulders.

RIGHT:
Taken 5/25/97, this is the most recent photo I have of Grandpa. He's posing with granddaughter Kassidy during our visit to North Dakota for her high school graduation.

Jerome Holter was the first born of Fritzhof and Jennie Holter who built their homestead in 1909 and lived there until their deaths in 1923 and 1947. It is the present home of Jerome and Esther at 110 First Street. Through the lean years and good Jerome worked at the Post Office and as buttermaker in Hatton Co-op Creamery from 1933 until 1945 when he started farming 2-3/4 miles east of Hatton on the original Ole Bjertness homestead.

LEFT:	I found this photo of Esther and Jerome in my baby book. Since I was born in 1952, I assume that it was taken shortly after I was born.

RIGHT: (back row)	Esther's mother and step-father, Hannah Nelson Rosholt Bjertness and Albert Bjertness

Albert and Hannah Bjertness were the step-father and mother of Esther Holter. Albert and Hannah lived on the farm from 1923 to their deaths in 1964 and 1974. At present the farm is a Holter family operation. Jerome retired from active farming in 1975. Jerome and Esther Rosholt Stoa married November 25, 1933.

I got my first camera when in 1960 when I was 8 yrs old. Grandpa Jerry posed for me in the backyard of their Hatton ND home.
