I enjoyed looking at your website. I have only hunted hounds (walkers) for four years now,My father in law got me started out going with him,I didn't have my own dog until three months ago,my father in laws female had pups and he gave me the runt of the l
tter, before I just handled his dogs and helped carry coon out of the woods, my pp is only 5 months old but I hve been taking her out in the woods with other dogs and working with her at home on handling and responding to commands. All of my father in law

I was looking to see if there are any rescue groups for Walker Coonhounds. My neighbor has three that are kept under what I consider to be inhumane conditions. The local humane society says their hands are tied because the dogs "technically" the dogs have
food, water and shelter, so I was looking for other options to help these dogs. THey are good looking dogs, but are kept tied on 3 foot ropes --- too short to barely move. They are never taken off the ropes, not used for hunting, get no exercise, no soci
lization, no attention and are miserable and lonely. They have now added a tiny coonhound puppy living under the same conditions, and I am just sick about it. Do you know anyone who helps or has power to intervene in such situations?

It was wonderful to find a page all about Walker's
we stumbled on the breed by accident after losing a Black and Tan that we had bottle raised. We found "Spot" in the Billings Gazette (Billings,Mt.)and decided to try a different type of hound. They are wonderful! Excellent pets!!
Many in our area scoff at us for not using her to hunt but we are very satisfied to just enjoy her.

We were trying to figure out the breed of our dog. We got him from a humane society. He was well trained. One day someone told us he looked like a Walker, and we had no idea what it was. He is white with tan spots, with all the same markings that are

I have a bluetick that is really good. He is starting to get old now, so I bought a cur pup so I could alternate nights with them. The cur is 7 months old now and will catch coon on the ground, and follows a hot track really well, but I cant get the pu
to tree unless it watches the coon go up it. For only being 7 months old, I think it is doing very well, but when the dog runs the track to the tree, I dont know how to get it to bark.
