Our Mission
The
National Conference (The National Conference of Christians
and Jews), founded in 1927, is a human relations organization
dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism in America.
The
National Conference promotes understanding and respect among
all races, religions and cultures through advocacy, conflict
resolution and education.
What we do...
The
National Conference of Charlotte promotes understanding
and acceptance of diversity. But, that's not al,l we also
develop, through school based programs, positive
self-esteem, responsible decision making, leadership
skills and community involvement for youth. We
support community dialogue about diversity through
programs such as Echo and
provide interfaith programs and facilitate
multicultural/diversity workshops and training.
The
National Conference of Charlotte, serves more than 1500
students through our youth programs such as Green Circle, Anytown,
Heritage Panel, and Youth Involvement Council, all of
which are endorsed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools
and the City of Charlotte.
