1870 - 1930's Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia

My g-grandfather Frank JONES, was born August 1859, in Georgia. So far I have not been able to identify his family in the 1870 census.

In the federal census for 1880, I have several candidates for my gg-grandfather Frank JONES. There is a Frank JONES son of Martha, born 1856, another Frank JONES b. 1860 in the household of Mariah JONES, and my favorite, Frank JONES born 1856 living with the Lewis SCOTT family.

On September 16, 1880, Frank JONES married Cordelia SCOTT. The ceremony was performed by W.S. Shorter, M.G. This was Frank's second marriage.

They had the following children:

On January 31, 1903, my g-grandmother Minnie JONES (b. 1884 - d. 1923?) married Charles BRADLEY in Muscogee county. The ceremony was performed by A.E. Clark, M.G.

My aunt remembers spending summers out on her grandparents farm. She says there were lots of fruit trees and a 2-story house.

I do not know exactly when gg-grandfather Frank died. Probably sometime in the 1930's.
