I became interested in my Family Heritage during the 6th grade. It was a class assignment to trace our family as far back as possible. I only got as far as my great great grandfather. I knew where to go and look for more information; but my father wasn't interested in helping with the research. Too bad he refused, because I could have been in contact with others that were researching my family that have passed on since the class assignment. A lot of information was lost that could have been recorded and preserved.
