The photo's here were taken by myself. The "quality" of the photos was somewhat sacrificed in so that the pictures would load a little faster. I hope you enjoy them as they are. They do give a good representation of our beautiful little town. In time, I hope to have more, better quality pictures. Enjoy them, especially those of you are far away and miss our little town, Rich Creek, Virginia! I can not be held responsible for any outbreak of "home-sickness."
- View of downtown from South end of town.
This photo was taken from atop the hill at the Burger Boy, above the car wash.
- View of Rich Creek Valley from atop Powell's Mountain (North end).
A georgeous view of the New River. In this photo it is flowing towards you (North).
- Old Rich Creek Elementary School. Now Town Offices and Community Center.
This old school building, still beautiful, holds many memories for many people. Mrs. Boggess's 6th grade class was on the right, Mrs. Meadows' 5th grade class was on the left, and the offices in the middle.
- Small monument honoring "founders" and first settlers of Rich Creek, the Shumates.
This monument is found in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
- Welcome sign greeting people entering the south end of town.
A very beautiful addition to welcome people to our community.
- "Gateway" to Giles County.
A "close-up" of the "Gateway" portion of the Welcome sign.
- Giles County marker entering Rich Creek from Peterstown, WV.
A brief history of Giles County.
- Rich Creek's Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Not a very good view of the cemetery, but a good shot of the sign.
- Rich Creek Town Park.
Again, not a great shot of the entire park. Our park contains two full size caged tennis courts, a full size basketball court, a volleyball net in sand, an open field for other activities, swings, merry-go-rounds, and much, much more! In this photo, they swings and other items had already been packed away for the winter.
- Park's main picnic shelter.
An absolutely fantastic place for reunions or other get-togethers. Can easily accommodate 50-75 people. It has a fireplace on each end and a fully equiped kitchen in a seperate back room.
- Rich Creek, next right.
This is the sign you see as you enter Rich Creek from Rt. 460, heading west.
