MORE ABOUT MINISTRY TOGETHER
If you are searching for an in-depth Bible study and/or specific classes to help you do the ministry God is calling you to do, the Academy for Ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Arkansas has created programs to meet your needs. Beginning September 11, 1999, eight Academy sessions will be held on scheduled Saturdays through May at the Regional Office in Little Rock and at First Christian Church in Rogers. Kerygma Bible Study will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Practical ministry sessions, as scheduled below, will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Participants are welcome to come to both sessions or attend either Kerygma or specific ministry sessions of interest to them.
KERYGMA BIBLE STUDY
Lay and clergy who are looking for an in-depth Bible study that will give them an overview of the entire scriptures will want to sign up for Kerygma. The course includes a study book with assignments to deepen the student's knowledge of scripture. Cost for this course is $150 and includes tuition and a book. Tuition for returning students with books is $110. Students agree to commit to eight sessions on scheduled Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and will be expected to study materials approximately one to two hours per week. By the end of the course students will be familiar with key Biblical content and concepts and will experience ways of applying these discoveries to their lives. Attendance at seven or more of these sessions will earn two CEUs from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Arkansas.
PRACTICAL MINISTRY SESSIONS
Sessions will be led by persons who have demonstrated their dedication and expertise in these forms of ministry. Students may attend one or all eight of the practical ministry sessions.
