AN INVITATION Expanding our understanding of God, trying out new ministries, and meeting new friends are just a few of the reasons why so many Disciples of Christ in Arkansas participate in retreats, special events, camps and conferences. To keep our spirits fresh and open to God’s grace, we are invited to take part in at least one of the events listed in this special section. Consider giving a scholarship for your pastor, youth, friend, or family member to attend an event that will be appreciated and remembered for years to come. For more information on any of these events, contact the Regional Office, (501) 562-6053, email ccark@aristotle.net

The Rozzell Lecture Series was established by Sarah Marie and Jim Rainwater as a memorial to Mildred Paynter, Sarah Marie’s sister, who passed away in 1981. Though Mildred was very active in Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, she provided scholarship funds for Jim and Sarah Marie as they served Christian Churches in Arkansas. As this gift nurtured the Rainwaters, so they also had a deep desire to make such opportunities available to leaders in the region. Rather than providing schol-arships to events, the Rainwaters chose to establish a fund to provide resources to bring quality continuing education opportunities to Arkansas.
