CUBMASTER KELLEY'S ALUMINUM FOIL COOKING

Try one of these at the October Family Campout!

"Camper's Choice" is allways a hit......You will not beleive what these guys will eat in the woods that you cannot get them to eat at home.

G O O D L U C K ! ! !

BAKED APPLES

¨ Core the center of apples.

¨ Place each apple on a square of aluminum foil.

¨ Fill center of apple with brown sugar and raisins.

¨ Bring foil up around sides and twist the top.

¨ Place wrapped apples directly into coals.

¨ Cook slowly. Turn and check every 10 -15 minutes

Time: 45 to 60 minutes, or until tender.

Other Fillings: Try a package of red hots (candy) or brown sugar, cinnamon, butter & nuts.

CAMPER’S CHOICE

¨ Prepare a large piece of heavy duty foil for each camper.

¨ Make a ground beef patty for each camper (1/8 lb to 1/4 lb).

¨ Place patty in center of foil.

¨ Top patty with camper’s choice of vegetables.

Diced Onions

Sliced Squash

Sliced Zucchini

Chopped Carrots

Cubed Potatoes

Fresh String Beans

Quartered Tomatoes

¨ Season to camper’s taste.

¨ Drugstore wrap the foil.

¨ Place directly on coals for 15 - 20 minutes.

Time: About 20 minuites depending on the heat of the fire.

Variations: Substitute ground turkey or ground chicken for ground beef.

Other Toppings: Use any vegetable you like

Note: Cut carrots very thin and use small cubed potatoes.

SAUSAGE POTATO

¨ Clean a baking-size potato.

¨ Drill a hole through it with an apple corer.

¨ Push a link sausage into the hole.

¨ Wrap the potato in foil.

¨ Place wrapped sausage potato directly into coals.

Time: Approximately 60 minuites.

STUFFED GREEN PEPPER

¨ Mix together 1 lb. of ground beef with 1 diced onion and two eggs.

¨ Salt & pepper (or use your favorite seasoning mix) to taste.

¨ Cut top of pepper out with small knife.

¨ Remove core and seeds and rinse.

¨ Stuff ground beef mixture into peppers.

¨ Wrap peppers in foil and place directly into coals.

¨ Cook 12 - 15 minuites on a side.

Time: 25 to 30 minuites.

Servings: Makes 4 to 6 stuffed peppers (depending on pepper size).

Other Fillings: Add grated cheese, tomato sauce and rice, if you like.

Note: Pre cook the rice. (the rice will “stretch” your beef)
