The entry 42-55 which is the entry immediately prior to James is another large family of Connellys and I would like to think that they are James Parents but if they are James Parents they would have to have been born in PA and they say they were born in Ireland as well as their parents. Still this could be an Uncle and his family.
Notice the spelling variation for Connelly. The spelling Connolley was taken from Maggie E. Connolley Hawkes personal papers.
Anyway here are the entries - This will be long there were 12 people in the household - 2 Parents-10 Children

These Connelly's could be my James Parents but the Census info especially regarding where born, where father born and where mother born could be in error. It could all depend on who gave the information to the census taker and if that information was correct???????? In this case my grandmother might have been named after the Maggie age 7 his sister listed above. With the new information found I now wonder if perhaps this family above was my James Family - However the Mary age 42 appears to be Mary Owen [St. Joachim's Church Records [below] - did Margaret Joyce die and Thomas married 2nd Mary Owen?????

(This is not my James Connelly/Connolley but the article was very interesting to me since my James also died in March 1885 in the vicinity of Cold Spring but he was 32 Years Old.)
"JAMES CONNOLLY, a lad about 15 years of age was
riding downhill past Mr. Walter Brett's residence at Fishkill Landing (now
Beacon) last Sunday, when he ran with great force into a sleigh that stood
at the side of the road, injuring himself so badly in the side and head
as to cause his death on Monday afternoon."

In this village, on Saturday night last, some drunken railroad laborers were gathered in front of Lyric Hall, when a laborer named THOMAS CONNELLY, and his son came out of the crowds and advanced toward Mr. Charles Whitney, a track-layer, and struck him and knocked him down. Both Connellys pounded him until he was senseless, when Mr. John Beecher came to the rescue and got Whitney into Blackman's store. Afterward, four or five of the railroaders followed Mr. Beecher to his blacksmith shop, in front of which they attacked him, his father, and his brother, with clubs, giving John Beecher and his father severe contusions. But the gentleman from Ireland soon found themselves in the wrong pew. The three Beechers went into the railroaders, and knocked two or three of them down, and they were glad to beat a retreat.

Jan. 23, 1869
THOMAS CONNELLY and his son were arrested on Saturday night last in a fight in Fishkill Village between some railroad laborers. Justice Walcott sentenced the elder Connelly to the county jail for 60 days and a fine of $25; the son to pay a fine of $10.

It is written by Prof. Calvin E. Stowe, for more than thirty years Biblical Professor of Andover, Cincinnati, and other Theological Seminaries.
