Claudia Weil & Steve Weeks' Family Web Page!

Welcome to our humble Family Web Page! We are going to update this page periodically with important family information on topics such as:

For a bit of background information on our family, Claudia and Steve have been married for 18 years. We met in New Jersey while both attending Rutgers University for our Ph.D.'s (Claudia in social psychology and Steve in ecology). We then  followed Steve's career around to Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.  We finally ended up in Akron, Ohio where Steve is a full professor in biology at the University of Akron (his work web site is: http://www.uakron.edu/biology/hmpg1.html). We have now been here almost 15 years (!), and are definitely feeling at home in Ohio, especially now that it has changed from a "red" to a "blue" state!

Six years ago we sold our house on the "west side" of Akron, and now have “moved up” to a newer home further west, in a town called Copley. The Copley house is much larger than the last, and has proven to be a wonderful change.  Even though it has been 6 years, we are still working on both the house and the yard. Claudia has been working her magic on the yard, and we are whipping the house into the shape we want. We have a nice group of neighbors, and the girls have a whole range friends in the neighborhood to play with!

We are now in our 10th year of parenthood. Our first daughter, Sarah, was born on April 18, 1998, and thus is now 10 years old, and continues to be cute as a button (see newer pictures below).  Sarah is now in the 5th grade, and really has taken to her move to middle school.  She is taking piano and voice lessons and is playing flute in the school band. Our youngest daughter, Sophie, was born April 12, 2001, and thus is 7 years old. Sophie is in 2nd grade and taking recorder lessons and loves animals and playing with dolls with her sister. The two girls play together quite well, most of the time. Please see below for new pictures of both girlies!

Claudia has continued making progress with her jewelry business, called "Shiny Beads", and was featured in our local newspaper, the Beacon Journal (see article here).  You can now buy necklaces, bracelets, or earrings directly from her web site, if you need a little something special for a loved one (or yourself!).  Even if you aren't in the market, you should check it out to see what she's been up to.  The jewelry is quite nice (hence the article)!
