How Catherine and I Met
![]() |
Hello all, I would like to introduce my
wenchy wife. Her name is Catherine, and we met in an unusual way. I met her on August 9,
1995, as I went through the drive-in at a Pollo Tropical Restaurant. After ordering my
food, the car behind me started to hit their horn. As I looked in my rear view mirror, I
saw someone trying to get my attention. Thinking it might be an old friend, I drove
through, got my food, and pulled around to park. I waited a minute to see what this person
wanted. When the car pulled up beside me, the woman of my dreams got out of her car. She
was nicely dressed in a pantsuit, walked over to me, and all I could think of was her
elegance. The way she walked to me was like a slow moving dream. My knees began to shake
and I was lost for words. After I regained my composure, I said hello. She informed me
that I had a flat tire. I thanked her and introduced myself. As our chicken got cold, we
engaged into a lengthy conversation. I was so comfortable and it felt as if we had known
each other for years. Even the cloudy skies turned sunny. As we talked, I was looking at
her left hand to see if she wore a wedding band, she didn't.... Hooray!!!! She nicely
stated that she was late for a meeting and had to go.
At this moment I took a chance, as I got
my nerve up, I asked if I could call her sometime? When she said she'd like that, we
exchanged phone numbers and we were on our way. As I drove home, I felt weak, happy, and
excited. I somehow made it back to the house, which I don't remember the drive. As I was
unlocking the door, I heard the phone ringing, and was in no hurry to get it, thinking it
was a bill collector. Well I did answer the phone and it was her, and she told me how
distinguished of a man I was, and was very comfortable with me. I returned the compliment,
and told her I was honored to hear from her so fast. We talked for about 3 hours on the
phone, not thinking about the chicken that was sitting on the kitchen counter. We then
knew there was a connection between us. I still remember this afternoon like it was
yesterday. The woman of my dreams got out of her car and into my life! (I don't think I
ever ate that chicken!) Just call me the gangster of love!!!!
