. H. B. CANADY was born October 1871 in Robeson County, Lumberton, NC, to Kennedy and Helen BELL SANTEE and died June 25, 1950 in Robeson County, Lumberton, NC. He married (1) JANE REVELS December 14, 1892 in Robeson County, Lumberton, NC, daughter of HINSON REVELS and SALLIE DEESE. She was born Abt. 1870 in Robeson County, Lumberton, NC, and died Abt. 1914 in Robeson County, Lumberton, NC. He married (2) LUELLA HARDIN September 20, 1916 in Robeson County, Lumberton, NC, daughter of CONDARY HARDIN and AMARETTA HAMMONDS. She was born December 24, 1901 in Robeson County, NC, and died July 19, 1942 in Robeson County, NC.

In my research, I discovered some very interesting facts. H.B.'s father changed his surname from Santee to Canady after his children were born. Kennedy Santee became Kennedy Canady and later William Canady. The surname of his children were changed also.

My mother is the youngest of nine children born to HB and Jane Revels Canady. Jane died when my mom was very young and her older sister, Jennie took the chore of mothering her.

Uncle Grady's wife, Hattie Bell Canady. I remember living next door to Aunt Hattie in 1954. I would visit with her every chance that I got.
