Rabbits make great
pets. They are cute, cuddly, and easy to maintain. You don't have to worry
when you leave the house if your bunny is home tearing up your garbage! And, they are affectionate. But they can be spoiled easily just like any pet! You can even train them to do tricks!! I should know, I have several of my own. Bunnies aren't for everyone though. Small children are usually very rough with pets. Bunnies need tenderness. You can't play rough with them like you can with a dog, so before rushing out to buy one, be sure a bunny is the pet for you.
Be cautious with the books on the getting a bunny! I found most of them are not exactly helpful for a domestic pet rabbit. For instance, one book stated that females make the best pets..... well, that wasn't exactly the case! So be sure to ask a LOT of questions if you are considering a bunny for a pet.
My bunnies are litter trained just like cats are. They each have their own "rooms" which are actually cages. Just as with any pet, the joy they can bring you when you are having a bad day outweighs any of the cons they may present. I wouldn't trade mine for the world! Yes, sometimes they do something to make you mad, but hey, it's natural. I've had a lot of laughs from mine and a lot of love too!
I've tried to include a lot of helpful bunny sites here. Though it takes time to go through them, it's well worth it to see how others view their pets. You'll find a lot of helpful hints too. So.. hop to it!
