Wills In Love...
March 1, 1999---Besotted Prince William could not
hide his feelings for Emma Parker Bowles as he gazed
adoringly into her eyes on a secret dinner date. A waiter
who served the couple at a posh London restaurant said:
"Wills was smitten. He was looking lovingly at Emma and
she was hanging on his every word. "She is a beautiful
woman and it was obvious that he has an enormous crush
on her." The happy couple laughed and chatted intimately,
blissfully at ease in each other's company - despite the
eight-year age gap. The dinner at the exclusive Foxtrot
Oscar restaurant was just one of a string of outings
William, 16, and former model Emma have shared. And
last night Emma's ex-boyfriend Andre Winterton said:
"She is a lovely, bubbly and attractive girl. I can
quite understand what William sees in her." But a close
friend of the 24-year-old society beauty told the Sunday
People that Emma is anxious not to let Wills think they
are anything but close friends. Last night the pal said:
"William is very grown-up for his age and has blossomed
into a truly handsome young man. "He is very keen on att-
ractive girls but he is also rather wary of them. Getting
close to a girlfriend is a delicate matter for someone
in his position. "He thinks Emma is lovely and more
importantly she is someone he can trust. "Emma thinks
William is very sweet and that he is a very mature young man.
There is nothing in any way improper about their relation
ship - they are simply becoming very special friends.
"Emma likes William very much. But anyone who saw the
Prince in her company could tell at a glance he is
captivated by her. "Sometimes he gazes at her so adoringly that it becomes a bit
embarrassing. He looks every inch a young man who is fall-
ing in love." William and Emma partied into the small hours
on their latest night out last Wednesday. They were joined
by Camilla Parker Bowles' children Tom and Laura who are
said to think it is highly amusing that Wills has got a
crush on their cousin. The happy group drank around four
bottles of wine at Foxtrot Oscar in London's Chelsea
before being chauffeured to Soho's trendy K-Bar. Wills
then stuck to soft drinks but the others carried on
drinking until they left at about 1am. Michael Proudlock,
owner of Foxtrot Oscar, said: "I know Emma well as she
used to work as a waitress here a few years ago.
"She has now become a regular customer and often comes
in with Prince William and a group of friends." And an
onlooker at the K-Bar said: "Emma and William looked very close. They make a
great couple." William has always been attracted to
blondes. His first bedroom pin-up posters included
Pamela Anderson, Baby Spice Emma Bunton and glamour
models the Barbie Twins. And stunning Emma certainly fits
the bill. Friends believe the beautiful "It" girl could
have had a career as a model but she said she didn't like
being treated like a "piece of meat". However she did
take on a series of assignments modelling designer Cartier
watches. Action-girl Emma's father Richard is the brother
of Andrew Parker Bowles, the ex-husband of Prince Charles's
lover Camilla. Emma has a reputation as a thrill-seeking
lover of outdoor sport. She loves sailing, white-water
rafting and once spent three months working in a Romanian
orphanage. She came back to take a journalist's job on men's
magazine GQ. Emma also worked as a gossip columnist on the
London Evening Standard. But she proved she could also be
discreet when she turned down an estimated £10,000 for an
interview in Hello! Magazine.
