My name is ILIAS (pron. i-l-ee-as) and I was born on June 27th, 1970 in Athens, Greece. I am now living in Larissa, Greece after spending a year in London, UK (Lancaster Gate, W2 - for those who know!) where I studied in King's College London to obtain my MSc. degree. I became a Geocities Community Leader for FashionAvenue on early June 1998 and am currently responsible for the FashionAvenue 4000 - 4199 block. |
I became involved with the
Internet in 1994 and I am a website designer since the very first days
in 1995. I also enjoy motorsports (WRC and F1 championships) and
travelling around Europe. Apart from Greek, I also speak English and French
quite well.
I can be reached via e-mail at the address:

A Community Leader, or a CL as you are about to encounter it often,
is not much more than a plain homesteader in Geocities, just like you are.
But he is a homesteader with the additional task of giving help to other
fellow homesteaders and of being the liaison between them and Geocities.
This means that your CL is the person to contact when you wish something
regarding your website, it being a helping hand or even a man to complain
to.
If you are residing in FashionAvenue and its suburbs, you can find
the CL that is responsible for your block in this page.
Why you need a Community Leader:
You may not know, but if you are a homesteader
in Geocities, you are one of many thousands like you. It's quite evident
that if everyone directed only one question each to the Geocities staff,
it would probably take about a year to get a response, and this assuming
that a hundred people did nothing during 24 hours a day but answering these
questions, and that no new questions were posed during that year !!!
The Community Leaders are here for
helping with these questions. They give answers to almost any problem a
homesteader can face with his website, since after an extensive training
they are very familiar with all the features in Geocities.
What a Community Leader earns:
Well, fortunately for Geocities (and not that fortunately for CLs :> ), the Community Leader programme is based on voluntary work. This means that a CL gets no money for his services, but there surely is some payment: The joy of being able to be of help when someone needs you, and also, the benefit of making new friends that -most probably- share the same interests as you... not mentioning of course the chance to put one of those fancy CL logos on your webpages!
How to become a Community Leader:
If after you've read all this, you are convinced you want to be a member of the Community Leaders family, and you are prepared to help fellow homesteaders, the procedure is quite simple. Follow this link to the CL application page, and fill in the appropriate forms. You will be contacted soon!
