Yo!

Nobody is "a stranger on the list" (after all, you read it don't you?).
We're all friends linked by our love for this timeless film. Don't let
the fact that you only post when you have something to say deter you
from
voicing your opinion.

That goes for all you timid lurkers out there. We're all equal on this
list.

Also, for newer members, don't hesitate asking or voicing opinions
thinking "they must've covered this already". True, the film is now
four
years old but , for many, this film is a recent discovery. I suspect
that, like many cult films, interest in the film will continue to grow
as
Kate, Mel, Peter and Fran and all the very talented people connected
with
HC will continue to make waves in the film world.

Also, the net keeps growing, so some people are coming across this film
as they surf the net.

It is a film that doesn't age as much as it acquires value (like a fine
wine).

Just curious, 'cause I found a photo of KW on a CD I have that's not one
I've seen many places before (Looks like some premiere....black lace
outfit....very nice)....and also an animated gif of a character that
looks
like it's from Borovnia...
And a .zip file of a whole bunch of articles about HC.....all of which
I'd
love to make available to folks if there is any interest

Last night I had the opportunity to watch the episode of Casualty that
Kate was in. Though she
had a minor part in the show there was one very emotional scene for her
where she lashed out at
the father who was molesting his daughter who Kate happened to be
babysitting. The emotion she
portrays in this scene was very reminiscent of some of her crying
scenes in HC. One thing that
Kate does better than anyone is painting her characters feelings often
without saying a word.

Other notes of interest about the episode include Kate having a more
modern look wearing long
straight blondish hair and wearing three earings in her right ear.

Hi creatures:

How old was she when she made that character?

As a matter of fact, one of the most glorious gifts of Kate is the deep
emotion she is able yo
transmit. As a Kate/Melanie/HC-Fan I've already seen all the work of
them that is available in my
country. My wife is the principal offended. She is usually jealous of
Kate, but also she loves
her higher gifts. When we were watching Sense and Sensibility (After
HC, Titanic, Jude, Hamlet..)
my wife said "For crying out loud, she's such a damn cryer!" Of
course, she said it while she was
crying too. :)

Thanks for reading

Hi,
yes there is interest, indeed. I would like to have a look on the pics
and the
articles you mentioned.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

P.S.: I don't know about policies, but all I know is that sending
binaries to
the list means that the people who are subscribed to the digest version
will get
only some garbage. Despite of this, some binaries have been sent to the
list in
the past (that's why I have subscribed to the single-message-per-mail
version
now).
Maybe it's possible that someone puts your files on his/her HC-homepage?

I don't know why exactly. To me she's one of the people who's always
stays beautiful, even when she's crying. (When I'm crying, my face and
expression can make other people cry too, but I guess that's for the
opposite reason...(-: )

That's the ultimate in acting. Not just saying the lines but conveying
the emotional state of the character and generating empathy.

I wish I could do that half as good as she does.

From the Mr. Showbiz website:

Lord of the Rings Trilogy Set

New Line Cinema, in what is being called the biggest project in its
history, is set to spend more than $130 million to make a trilogy of
films based J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved and best-selling The Lord of the
Rings series.

Peter Jackson, best known for helming the 1994 Kate Winslet film
Heavenly Creatures, will direct, co-write, and co-produce the project,
with Saul Zaentz (The English Patient) and Miramax heads Bob and Harvey
Weinstein exec producing.(Miramax had recently acquired the screen
rights from Zaentz.)

In an unprecedented move, Tolkien's trilogy, which is comprised of The
Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers, and The Return of the King, will be
shot back to back in Jackson's native New Zealand. Production is
expected to last a year and is tentatively scheduled to begin in
mid-1999. The studio is apparently considering releasing the first film
for Christmas 2000, with the second one due in the summer of 2001, and
the third at Christmas 2001.

New Line is taking a big risk on the ambitious, special effects-laden
project, which is being compared to the Star Wars trilogy. By making
the films back to back, the studio, known for low-budget fare such as
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, could take a huge hit if the first
installment tanks. (A 1984 animated adaptation by Ralph Bakshi was a
cult hit, but a box-office disappointment.) New Line's most expensive
production so far is this year's Lost in Space, which reportedly cost
around $85 million to make.

Tolkien's books, which were published in the '50s as a sequel to The
Hobbit, center on a classic struggle of good vs. evil, with a young
hobbit's quest to destroy a magic ring before the evil Dark Lord can
get ahold of it and destroy humanity. The books have proved immensely
popular, selling more than 50 million copies and getting translated
into 25 languages.

Jackson, for his part, seems unfazed with the enormous task before him.
"This is really the first time you could visualize Tolkien's
imagination on film," he tells the Los Angeles Times. "The technology
has really only existed in the past two or three years." The paper says
the main characters will be played by actors‹none of whom have been
cast‹with many of the creatures and locations to be created by
computer.

"It's true that fantasy is the one cinematic genre that's never been
done especially well,"Jackson tells the paper. "After 100 years of
cinema, there's not a lot of new ground for storytelling. We can all
point to great musicals or horror films. But no one's really nailed
fantasy. So that's the challenge‹I want to see if I can pull it off."

--------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone can pull it off, PJ can.

Shooting in NZ will make this feasable.

This also marks the second project in a row where PJ is produced by an
Oscar winning producer (Saul saentz of "The English patient" - the
first was Robert Zemeckis of "Forrest Gump" who produced "The
Frighteners").

Hello everyone!

Speaking of Kate's ability to cry convincingly...I just had the good
fortune to see Beth Winslet's performance in "The Scold's Bridle". Her
character seemed to cry for the whole two episodes, rather convincingly
also (she is a lot like Kate..in so many ways). I must say I was
impressed by Beth Winslet's acting...does anyone know if she has gained
any other acting roles? I believe this was her first...

cheers from sunny Queensland,

Wow, this is wonderful news! I was wondering what Jackson would be
doing
next. The last I had heard was the remake of King Kong with Kate
Winslet but
that, as I'm sure you all know, fell through long ago. I can't wait to
see
him run rampant in a fantasy world again. Forgive my ignorance, but
I'm not
terribly familiar with the Lord of the Rings series, but are there any
human-
like characters in it? Could we see Kate and Mel together again? And
what
about it, Orson? You up for playing a Hobbit? :)

there are very few women in the ring saga at all.

there is galadriel, queen of the elves, there is goldberry (mrs.
bombadil)
and there is princess eowyn, daughter of king eomir of rohan. truth to
tell
i can't see kate or melanie as any of them. i used to be something of a
tolkien scholar and i think that unlike a lot of the men, these two
ladies
are going to be extremely difficult to cast, particularly galadriel. i
suspect he'll use unknowns as he did for heavenly creatures.

Oh, my... the nerve of the man... you've gotta admire him for it. I'm
dizzy even thinking about how good it might be if he pulled it off.

Any ideas yet which cameo you'll be pitching for, Jean?

Suggestions for the now-famous Jackson cameo, everyone? The balrog,
perhaps? My vote would be Fran as the elf queen lady person
(Galadriel? I
haven't read 'em for a bit).

I doubt there is a chance for a cameo here. Not that many 6 foot tall,
200 pound Hobbits in Middle-Earth. Besides, a cameo by me is a bit
problematic as they need to fly me around the world and that is cost
prohibitive.

One rumor, early last year, had Sean Connery being considered as
Gandalf.

Other than that, the budget ($135 for three films) wouldn't allow many
high priced stars. Also, fantasy works better when you can't recognize
stars under makeup.

Besides, look at the people who had "introducing" on their credits in a
previous PJ film we all love.

BTW, it was never officially announced that Kate was to be part of King
Kong. That came from a phone conversation I had with Fran Walsh. I
suggested Kate for the Fay Wray role and Fran laughed saying that "Kate
was very keen on it" and wanted the role.

But, alas, that project was shelved.

Hiya,

Just chatted with my sister who is excited about the new project, and
thought that Sean Connery would make a brilliant Gandalf (after all he
probably needs a PJ/FW film to take away the bitter aftertaste of "The
Avengers") . But then my sister said..." there is no way you could turn
Lord of the Rings into a 100 minute film "...Could be a challange for
PJ. Could he hope to create a Titanic like epic of 3+ hours...without
Leonardo? hmmmmm

Almost totaly off-topic I know, but just an observation.

She's right. And that's why Peter took the project from Miramax and
Harvey Weinstein (notorious for cutting things down, hence the nickname
"Harvey Scissorhands") to New Line- to make THREE 100 minute films. The
script is 300 pages long and the rule of thumb is a page a minute.

I thought PJ was going to do The Hobbit, not Lord of the Rings, which is
related and has connections to the Hobbit but is a different story. Even
the "style" of the storywriting is different. To me, The Hobbit was
written more for children and Lord of the Rings was a far more serious
adventure.

Speculation arose from the fact Peter was involved in a "Tolkien"
project. Even his script "Blubberhead" was speculated upon as it is a
"Tolkien-like fantasy set in the mind of a mad Texan".

The same goes with the Sean Connery as Gandalf speculation. It was just
a
rumor.

I guess people figured that Tolkien and Hobbits must've meant "The
Hobbit" as LOTR has always been pegged as "too ambitious for live
action".

Before the Ralph Bakshi "animated" (read "tinted live action being
passed
off as animation") version, United Artist had a live action version
planned starring, of all people, THE BEATLES. It was supposed to
coincide
with a concept album by the Fab Four. The major hurdle was getting the
group to reunite (which, of course, never happened) but it has been
discussed seriously. (The source of this info is an amazing book on the
downfall of United Artist and the making of "Heaven's Gate" entitled
"Final Cut" by Steven Bach- It is a fascinating read.)

That's what the annoucement was on monday.

The trilogy will match the three books.

The films will be shot back to back which will keep the budget down and
the look consistent (which kinda plagued "Star Wars"). There is no way
this project can be done with the usual two year hyatus (during which
time stars renegociate higher salaries) between installments.

But if Peter and Fran can make HC for a mere $2.2 million (US), they
can
pull off a trilogy for $135 million.

This is considered one of the most ambitious projects in film history,
folks!

This also means we can expect a new wave of new craetures to this list
over the next couple of years. Expect a lot of curious Tolkien freaks
looking into Peter's credentials. Some will discover HC like many of
you
did after "Titanic".

Hello dear creatures
Tell me if I'm wrong. Yesterday I was sneaking the net searching for
heavenly places. I found that there are less places than a year ago. I
found that HC homepage in http://www.666.org/heavenly/ is now under
password protection. As i read, it was ment to be closed by now. Did I
missed something?
Also I found a very nice site, under construction, named HC webhome, and
it announce a mailing list. Some of the explanation of the list said:
Since April 21st of 1998, there has been a brand
new Kate
Winslet/Melanie Lynskey Mailing list! This mailing
list is available
for anyone to subscribe to and is a great list for
both fans of the film
Heavenly Creatures, Kate and Melanie, without the
clashing of topics.
It's completely free to join, but you must first
register ...
English is not my native language, so, sometimes itīs hard to me to
understand the real meaning of the sentences. In the past paragraph,
the phrase "without the clashing of topics" means the topics of HC, KW,
ML or is it an alussion to other list/places/newsgroups? Just
wondering.

Thanks for reading

Jose Antonio

Well, it's been quite a long absence for me and I'm now saddled with the
ENORMOUS task of reading all the digests of the past 8 weeks! Ahhh!

But, I've had a wonderful summer and very successful trip to England.
Lots to
catch up on.

The Kate Winslet Festival was quite a little success...we did gather in
Surrey
on July 4th...and ALL of Kate's films were screened. Along with several
interview compilations, a listening section of her S&S audio book, and
lots of
decorations and food. Much conversation...few argumentative
statements...and
lots of laughter. It was very nice to have such a group together.
Unfortunately, the NZ cut of HC was unable to be viewed...damn NTSC and
PAL
differences! We tried in vain with dual-format VCR's and such-but, were
only
able to get muffled sound and blurry pictures. We did screen the UK
widescreen
version, though...and that was a delight to my American eyes...it was
even
better when I was able to tape that version on Starz the other night. :)

I saw lots of Kate things in England...very exposed over there. It was
rather
interesting to see her from that perspective...more on that later.

And to participate a little in Ever After discussion (of which I see
there was
quite a bit)...I just got back from the cinema an hour ago or so...and,
well...let's just say I think I'm actually old enough now that those
films
just don't do it for me anymore. The 12 year old girl who would've held
Drew
Barrymore up as a hero has totally grown up...BUT, it WAS 'fantastic'
to see
Melanie up on the big screen...and it made me even more angry than I
usually
am about her career...I really hope she starts to take off as Kate has
done...she's brilliant. :)

So...I'm glad to see PJ has a new long term project in the works!
WOW...he'll
work wonders to those stories...I'm sure of it.

Be speaking to you all again soon...going to bury myself in this
summer's
list!

-Jesse :)

Hi everybody,
I just wanted to let you know that Iīm back from Australia. It was
really great
down under, but it was not possible to get any HC-copies there, which
really
annoyed me. BUT i found something else of interest: My penfriend gave

You're referring to the kate_mel_fans mailing list that "used to be"
located at
<www.onelist.com> I suspect it was created by a big fan before she
discovered
the HC List...and I think she modified her description of it so that it
might be
of interest to members of this list as well. I'm subscribed to it but I
haven't
received any posts since early August...and when I visited the onelist
site it
did not come up in a search...although the onelist administrator says
I'm still
subscribed to it. Is anyone else here on this list and if so, do you
have any
idea what's going on with it? The discussions were pretty lively
following the
release of "Ever After" but I haven't seen a digest for weeks now.

Best regards,
Sharon

Actually, it was created in the midst of a Titanic flame war. Since the
question arose as to wether or not Titanic was relevant to a HC list,
someone thought a list devoted to the actresses careers would be a good
idea.

The same might happen over LOTR once that is released.

Is LOTR topical? You betcha! The HC lsit should keep tabs on thecareer
of

I got a call from one of Montreal's top agents. It seems he's "Keen to
sign me up"

For those who don't know, I've had the biggest problem getting an
agent.
Getting a good one seemed even more impossible (they were all "booked
up"). I also had trouble due to Montreal's tortous union requirements
(and was reduced to extra work as I had to begin climbing the ladder
from
the bottom).

I'm meeting with him on tuesday morning to look over the contract.
Barring some real outrageous clauses in the contract, I expect I'll be
signing.

Well, I've had requests for my address b4.

Now that you mentionned it...sure. Why not? Mail adds to an actor's
"visibility" at the agencies.

Heck! No one's seen HC in his town and casting agents were sometimes
cynical and would say "If we need an Orson, we'll call you."

Bob Tynell, (the director of "Frankenstein & Me") kept insisting on
using
me and the casting agency kept auditionning other people for the role.
I
ended up getting it anyway.

Typecast already. *Sigh*

But it seems my test for that talent agent was succesful last week :-)

Hi Creatures,

Well I've always known that the Donkey Serenade was first featured in
Allen Jones' film The Firefly (it's my grandfather's favourite film)
but when I recently watched it, I noticed that the main theme is very
similar to the theme from Heavenly Creatures.

I'm not trying to take something away from Peter Dasent, as I
absolutely LOVE the score to HC, but I think it's pretty perculiar.

Regards,

Jane

PS And I'm also going to NZ in December but will not be travelling to
Christchurch. Before I knew where I was going I didn't want to go as I
thought it would be too creepy, but then when I found out I wasn't
going it was a bit disappointing. It's too bizarre.

Lord of the Rings: In an official press release today, New Line Cinema
announced that it would commit more than $130 million toward producing a
live-action, FX-packed trilogy of films based on the famous "The Lord
of the
Rings" novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. Confirming the rumours at last, Peter
Jackson ("The Frighteners") will co-write, co-produce and direct the
franchise which begins production mid-1999. Oscar winning producer Saul
Zaentz, and Miramax chiefs Bob & Harvey Weinstein will executive
produce the
three films which will be shot back-to-back in New Zealand, meaning
principal photography (ie. shooting) will run for approximately one
year.
The studio is tentatively planning on releasing each film 6 months
apart -
making it a 'Christmas 2000-Summer 2001-Christmas 2001' event series.
Jackson has been developing the trilogy for almost two years, perfecting
computer programs with his FX team at Weta Digital, which will be used
for
the film FX. The Effects House was able to complete over 500 FX shots
for
Jackson's $20 million-budgeted "The Frighteners" back in 1996, imagine
what
they can do with the $45 million budget being spent on each film.
Jackson
says "We are fortunate down here in New Zealand to have both the
computer
technology and the natural landscapes to bring the unique world of
Middle
Earth to life. It's very exciting to be making 'The Lord of the Rings'
as a
trilogy. Shooting three feature films back-to-back has never been done
before, and it shows tremendous vision on the part of Bob Shaye and New
Line
Cinema. Not only will we create a unique cinematic event, but we will be
treating Tolkien's work with the respect and integrity it deserves".

Hi All,

Well, I've finally got around to adding a bunch of articles to the 4th
World site. Some of them date back to when HC was just being released;
there's lots of quotes from Mel and Kate on how they approached their
roles. Also an article about Melanie, when she was appearing in a stage
production of "The Maids" in Wellington.

I had to make a new section just to keep it all organized... so proceed
straight to "The Library"! The new stuff's there (under "Recent Press
Articles") along with related items formerly in section 7.

	http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Studio/2194/

Thanks to Karen Swenson and Marie Braden (whose animated Borovnian
figure
is now living in the Art Gallery!) for the new material. Marie also
forwarded a bunch of reviews and analysis that I'm still sifting
through -
I'll have it on the site soon.

Enjoy!
Adam

It will always be part of the list. Just as Kate's, Peter and Fran's...

HC is becoming a pivotal point in film history. Certainly NZ's film
community. It introduced us to these two fine actresses, was the
breakthrough film of the duo who'll take LOTR to the big screen as well
as the first project for WETA, the company that is already turning
heads
with impressive low-budget effects on TV's Xena and Hercules.

There was a lot of talent on that set and keeping up with what they do
now is perfectly topical.

We can expect a lot of press like this as LOTR is best know as an
"unfilmable" project. This is a Reuters wire story:

http://www.mrshowbiz.com/news/wire/980831/4_53_3.html

All this hooplah will in turn lead to plenty new listers so be nice
everybody.

Also expect a bunch of new listers as HC is reinvading the video stores
in a big way. It was reissued a few weeks ago to capitalize on the
TITANIC release.

Even the convenience store across the street has it now. (Which is
really
weird). They usually only have the big mainstream films.

I've transcribed track 13 "Pauline & Juliet" by Peter Dasent
on the HC soundtrack. This is a really beautiful piano piece.
If you are a keyboard/piano playing HC fan, this is a must for
your repetoire.

I spent a fair amount of effort to make sure that the transcription
was as accurate as possible. Unfortunately the notation software
that I am using is kind of inflexible so I wasn't able to notate the
piece exactly the way I wanted to. For example, the left and right
hand parts aren't as clearly notated as they could be. If any you
have good notation software and a little time on your hands, this
score could use a little tweaking.

The score is in postscript format. Email me if you want it. If there
is enough interest I'll maybe ask Adam if he would be interested in
putting it up on his website. Hopefully the score will be tweaked by
then.

Also, I have outputted the track in MIDI format if anyone wants that.
The cheesy piano sounds on my sound card don't do it justice though.
I'm sure the piece sounds MUCH better when played on a grand piano,
in the dark, at 4:30 in the morning of a sleepless night, half-awake.

Boy, now that they finally 'discovered' HC in Europe they can't stop

will broadcast it!! And this time it's finally on a normal hour, so I do

Something else: I just bought book about Sense & Sensibility, the

Ohh..you should hear how they announce HC when it's on TV here...last

time they said: Starring Kate -Titanic- Winslet.

Imagine this scene:

HILDA: "Eat up Titanic!"

PAULINE looks up with a questioning look.

JULIET: "It's my middle name..."

Take care (-:

That is so unbelievably cheap. Her talents (imho of course, before the

flames begin) were wasted in Titanic, she could have done better but

there wasn't much script to work with, again in my opinion..HC was as I

see it one of her finest, in which she couldn't have done any better in

portraying the Juliet Hulme that was written. It's also sad that if it

had not said "of Titanic" there would only be a few scattering of people

in the theatre. Or if she had not been in "the biggest motion picture of

all time" there wouldn't be a "release" period..just my opinion of

course..

Laurin

It's strange to think that a movie is being promoted from the

performance an actress has in a successful NEWER movie.

I always think it is the other way around. <grin>

It's nice to be able to promote HC to my friends via the sentence

"It

stars Kate Winslet, the female lead in Titanic."

I would have prefered TITANIC ads saying 'starring kate winslet from

Here's what the Ciniscape insider has to say about TLOTR & Kate...

"Winslet In 'Rings'? Okay, so this isn’t hard news. In fact, it’s not

even

hard rumor. But the Insider happened upon a recent interview with Kate

Winslet

in which she speaks of her Heavenly Creatures director, Peter Jackson,

in the

most glowing terms. Could we see these two friends hook up again when

Jackson starts casting for Lord of the Rings? The director has admitted

that

most of the central roles will be given to relative unknowns from

Australia and

England, but he has conceded that he hopes to get big-name talent for

the

various cameos his script promises to feature. Yours truly (being the

big Kate

Winslet fan that I am) thinks the idea would be grand! Anyone have any

particular ideas for the

role Kate could play in the trilogy?"

I'd love to see Kate hook up with Jackson again. Being a huge fan of

Tolkien's

TLOTR(who isn't?) I'd love to see Kate play a role in this but there

aren't any

female parts other than a few elves. Kate might fit the Galadriel or

Eowyn

roles but these would be mere cameos with maybe 5 minutes of screentime.

Not to mention that elves are extremely thin according to legend and

lore. I'd

hate to see Kate get rid of her trademark curves for a cameo :(

Anyone think Jackson will at least consider Kate?

like i said before, there are three full-size women in this story

(several

hobbit women) and i literally cannot see either kate or melanie as any

of

them. kate has that 1940s hollywood glamour queen beauty -- rosalind

russell, susan hayward, in fact the older she gets, she's really

starting

to remind me of lana turner. she just doesn't look otherworldly enough

to

be galadriel. you really need either an irish or a eurasian actress. or

someone like meg tilly. someone who doesn't look quite real, and who can

get away with a minimum of makeup.

the same is largely true of eowyn. you need a tall, strong, viking

princess

type for that.

i'm the kind of person who sits around casting "heavenly creatures"

that's because any time there is a fantasy environment being considered,

the name tolkien is invoked. it's almost a kneejerk response,

particularly

when the fantasy environment includes nice countryside or garden scenes,

"little" people, magic rings or dragons. i've read reviews where the

fourth

world and borovnia were called "tolkienesque". it's what people in the

industry do who don't know any other way to describe a fantasy film or

book. this began in the late 1970s when the second huge tolkien wave hit

the states and the hildebrandt brothers put out those posters and

calendars. tolkien scholars cringe when they hear this but there is

nothing

that can be done.

Again, I have to play the devil's advocate. The difference in acting in

a

film like HC and one like TITANIC is pretty much the same as sprint

running vs marathon running. The point of doing an epic film is to

remain

consistent and in character despite shooting out of sequence over 8

months and three continents, sometimes with gallons and gallons of

water

spilling over you.

It's less impressive but still takes quite a bit of talent to pull off.

You might still be cynical and come to the conclusion that the trick in

epic films is to simply "not suck".

Well, as an actor I can tell you that that's harder than it seems.

And more people will see HC after she's worked with Ahrrrnuld. (Which,

frankly, she needs to avoid becoming known as "The Helena Bonham

Carter"

type)

Many people saw "Miracle on 34th Street" simply because it starred a

young Nathatlie Wood. More people discovered Hitchcock's "The Trouble

with Harry" because it was Shirley MacLaine's first film, or because it

starred John "Dynasty" Forsythe or even because it co-starred Jerry

Mathers (better known as "The Beaver")

Continued success by the cast of HC ensures the film will live on.

You folks aren't hoping for her career to be restricted to just HC are

you?

The bigger she gets the bigger HC gets cuz it remains her FIRST movie.

And an impressive debut at that.

It's all a matter of opinion. Personally, I can see why the editing is

an option, lets say for the sake of argument some 11-12 year old child

hasn't seen the film and would like to but their parents object to the

scenes in question? Then the editing would allow the child to see the

film in all (almost all) of it's epic grandeur. And of course there are

those out there who just don't want to see it, don't ask WHY, but they

don't. It's all a matter of situation and personal ethics.

Hmm, personally I would feel a bit offended if I were the creator of

said

epic film. Because like a piece of music and a novel/short story a film

is

a whole work.. if you pick out elements it falls apart. You can of

course

argue that this or that scene is unnecessary for the continuance of said

film but I think it's a matter of respecting the creator's work...

I wonder how those editing people would feel if ten seconds were edited

out

of their favourite piece of music ? Or five chapters edited from in the

middle of their fave book.

Just my 2 cents.
