Long ago, This island was called Serendib. An
18th Century English writer had Sri Lanka in mind when he coined
the word "serendipity" - the faculty of making happy and unexpected discoveries
by accident. Sri Lanka(Ceylon), is an experience of an lifetime. We have
designed an excellent way for you to discover it for yourself. Few places
on earth, if any, have packed the variety of experiences available
in Sri Lanka into such a small area. This fascinating land is only
270 miles long and 140 miles across at its widest point - larger than the
American state of West Virginia. It is this compactness that makes this
island, once known as Ceylon, an ideal travel destination. A road and rail
network connects all corners of the country. Add to this the unbridled
hospitality of the Sri Lankan people, and the country truly becomes a traveler's
pradise, a "serendipitous" pleasure. |
