PEOPLE FROM BONDAGE MINISTRY (PFB) is a self-supported, Christian Ministry formed in 1992 to provide for people in need regardless of their religious beliefs. Our primary goal is to address the immediate needs of individuals and families with the understanding that God loves and works through people. This ministry is a labor of love operating upon the principle of People Helping People to Help Themselves.

At this time People From Bondage Ministry maintains two homes in Vista California for homeless men, homeless women and soon homeless Veterans. Since its inception this ministry has assisted more than one hundred seventy-homeless men and homeless women (and the numbers are increasing), several homeless families, also many other impoverished families. We provide a caring home atmosphere, which includes shelter, bathrooms, kitchen and showers in a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Other basic needs supplied are a mailing address, a message phone and laundry facilities (all of which are essential for seeking and maintaining employment). We refer our clients to ROP, counseling and job placement services as well as providing transportation as needed. ********************************************************************************

FROM THE PRESIDENT

I'm please to announce that Kathy Wetlaufer has accepted our invitation to be Vice President and Treasurer. Kathy has also offered to be the manager of the homeless women's house. We are constantly asked for shelter from homeless women in this area. With Kathy's help, we are able to do just that. Kathy is a Godsend to PFB, and an answer to my prayers. I have known Kathy for about eleven years now and I find her to be an asset to wherever she lends herself. She has been a nurse for 15 years, a school teacher for a number of years before that and has helped out homeless people as well as PFB Ministry. She has purchased many needed items for us out of her own pocket. The residents here appreciate her very much. She has shown love, unselfishness, a giving heart, and has been an inspiration to us all. Thank You, Kathy, for all you've done. We are looking forward in working with you for as long as you are willing to stay.

YOU ARE INVITED

Join with us in helping save fellow human beings who have been written off in the minds of some. Join with us to form a chain of life to "do unto others as we would have them do unto us." You who are pastors, doctors, lawyers, dentists, layman and social workers are invited to form a team of volunteers to find solutions to the nation’s ills. You can administer remedies to the homeless, abused children, drug and alcohol abusers and the forgotten elderly. People From Bondage Ministry aspires to help the "down and out" to help themselves.

Ministry NeedsWe have been asked what are our needs by many people desiring to donate items to this ministry. The purpose of this ministry is to fill needs. We all have needs, either the need to give, the need to receive, or the need for both.

1. At present, we need your prayers, food and cash for expenses such as rent, utilities, car fuel, auto insurance, a used pick up truck, household supplies and misc. expenses.

2. A washing machine & dryer, misc. kitchen items, etc., are needed. We also need bunk beds or twin beds and bedding, living room furniture and just about everything else.

There are no paid employees in this ministry, Ken is authorized to receive $ 1,500.00 a month as executive director but he has forfeited his salary from the start.
