Experience Nassau BOCES Systems
Coordinator, March, 2002 – June, 2006 I worked as a
consultant for Nassau County BOCES supporting all aspects of Schoolware (school
administrative software), which I also supported while working directly for Sun
Valley Systems (Schoolware’s vendor).
The clients I supported and trained were entire school districts, the
users ranged from Assistant Superintendents to Secretaries. ·
Provided on-going training, guidance and support to end user
clients, both on site at schools and via telephone and modem. ·
Wrote custom queries, reports and data extracts for their
clients using Microsoft Access. ·
Guided, informed and supported their clients on the New York
State data reporting requirements, definitions, software and procedures. ·
Created and documented operational procedures that the
school districts followed. ·
Wrote software documentation. ·
Troubleshot client’s
Schoolware and computer problems. If user related, I worked out their problems; if software
related, I tested and analyzed the issue, then worked closely with the vendor
to resolve it; if hardware related, I coordinated the resolution of the
problem. ·
Installed software upgrades and fixes on client’s
servers. Performed database management
procedures, such as reorganizations, tuning and backup recovery. GS XXI, Inc. Software

position of a KICCS Software Specialist.
KICCS is a freight software package and I supported all aspects of it,
including remote support, telephone support, testing and installation of
updates for GSXXI’s clients throughout the United States, which numbered about

For new clients, I was involved in initial planning
meetings. I converted any existing
databases and configured them for Sun Valley’s software, which is a relational
database application package. I
installed their databases on-site, and set up individual desktops. I performed
initial software training sessions, both one on one and in groups. ·
Provided on-going training and support. ·
Documented procedures for their clients, as well as wrote
documentation for them. ·
Tested new software, providing input and suggestions on
enhancements, designs and fixes. ·
Troubleshot client’s problems and determined if it was
system, software or hardware related.
If it was software related, I also tested and analyzed it to determine
what was wrong. ·
Installed system software upgrades at client’s sites. Additionally, I performed database
management procedures. ·
Wrote a high volume of queries and reports for our clients
in both SQL and using Microsoft Access. ·
In house, I created an entire job tracking system in Access

Conducted training sessions and provided on-going support
for the following systems: Word Perfect v.6.1, Lotus 1-2-3, Microsoft

Supervised and was in charge of several administrative
accounts. I ran programs, maintained
member’s annuity balances, worked closely with accountants -- determining and
allocating net assets, determined member’s eligibility of benefits, analyzed
employer contributions, among many other functions. ·
Performed all Accounts Receivable functions, from invoicing
and tracking payments to preparing and analyzing monthly cash receipt reports. ·
Performed all Accounts Payable functions, from receiving
bills and paying them to preparing and analyzing expense allocation
spreadsheets and reports. ·
Taught formal training classes on Datapoint's Word
Processing System. ·
Tested Syntonic Systems’ software, providing input and
suggestions on enhancements, design and fixes. ·
Created databases, queries and reports with Microsoft
Access. ·
Demonstrated Syntonic Systems’ software at trade shows and
for potential clients. ·
