Partners Vinal Smith and Gary Quimby are here to offer expert advice on all your flooring needs. They have been in the flooring business for over 25 years. Vinal started out selling flooring in the early 70's for Wickes Lumber Company. Gary was an outside salesman and this is how they eventually came together to form a company in Downtown Bangor called Colonial Carpets, Inc. Colonial Carpets was very successful at that location, but more warehouse space was necessary. The trend was moving toward in-stock items. Warehouse space just outside of Brewer was rented and Carpet World was born in 1984. Our present warehouse was built a few years later and eventually we merged the two businesses to the one location of Carpet World. We feel having one location benefits our customers.
