Robert Anderson and Frances Kidd were wed some time during the 1880's. He was of Scottish/Irish heritage and she was from a country in West Africa. They made their home in the parish of St. Mary in Jamaica, W.I. From their union, 14 children were born. As we enter the 21st century, we also enter the 6th generation of Descendants. Our records indicate that there are now well over 250 people who can trace their origins back to Frances, Robert and their children. This website was created to explore the common ancestry of the descendants of Frances and Robert, as well as to document our present and our future. The information we have gathered so far has come from interviews with some of the oldest living descendants as well as people from later generations. We all seem to be interested in learning more about our past, our heritage. I am sure a wise man (perhaps it was a woman) somewhere out there once said, we must know something of our past in order to understand our future. Well, let's support future generations by working together to make sure that the facts about our generations are recorded accurately. Let's empower our descendants by telling them about their history. After all, let us not forget one of life's simple equations, Present= Future + Past. Our "present" will quickly become the "past" for generations to come. We consider this website to be a living document that will take on a life of its own and mature along with each and everyone one of us. And so, we look forward to having you participate in its development. Eventually, we hope to have our own domain where each descendant will have an opportunity to create and develop their own webpage and a number of other goodies.
