Master Sergeant David K. Thuma Memorial Scholarship
"The Green Beret, A Symbol Of Excellence, A Badge Of Courage, A Mark Of Distinction In The Fight For Freedom"  President John F. Kennedy-April 11,1 1962
The Master Sergeant David K. Thuma Memorial Scholarship was established with Regents College in May 2000 to honor a US Army Special Forces soldier who set the standard for all who knew him, and for those who follow.  He was an extraordinary man among extraordinary men.
This scholarship is for his teammates in the Special Forces (CMF 18).  It is designed to eliminate most, if not all, out of pocket expenses for SF soldiers who wish to complete their degrees with Regents College.
"The Challenge"
As the former Team Sergeant of SFOD A725 and A771, I have initially donated $50 in the name of each of these two detachments to the Master Sergeant David K. Thuma Memorial Scholarship and challenge every team sergeant and former team sergeant to encourage their teams to match or exceed my contribution.    CSM (Ret.) Michael W. Jefferson
