I walk alone down a trail of dust and sand and as I draw near I realize that I am only further away This grit blows in my eyes; I find it hard to see My toes touch the edge, my feet long to be free For all these years have I been blind? Did I learn how to cry? I never did until I met you... I don't know how to let myself go- I don't know how to fly I never knew thatI would have to. I take a step and now I'm gone, I'm finally here it's been too long My body drifts in a sea of air, my spirit climbs and is aware Floating slowly in a night of moon and stars No longer restless from these thoughts of you, I smile Here is myself, spinning in eternity, my eyes open wide You are lost so far below me, rolling in the tide. |
