Jeffrey R. Bacon - my personal page

I'm a professor at the Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango. In Durango, Durango, Mexico.  I teach Ecology at the Escuela de Ciencias Químicas, Conservacion y Manejo de la Biodiversidad at the Facultad de Ciencias Forestales, and I coordinate and conduct research in the Área de Ecología Forestal of the Instituto de Silvicultura e Industria de la Madera.

My research is focused on Mexican oak systematics (identification and classification) and floristic inventories in the Sierra Madre Occidental.  I have published a number of scientific articles related to oak systematics, and several of my articles of a more general nature have appeared in the popular literature.
