CHARD, BUGDEN, COLE, CRAWFORD

Putting together a Family Tree is much like a jigsaw puzzle..looking for the right piece to fit into the right spot.
Genealogy and History combine together and both are interweaving of events and people, not just about Kings, Queens, Presidents...it's about ordinary people and how events influenced their lives and on occasions, how they influenced events, molding the future for those of us to follow.

At the time we launched this site we have researched back over 300 years of blood line, spanning many generations of our family with the centre being round CHARD and incorporating COLE, BUGDEN, CRAWFORD and YOUNG as the main lines, with each and all coming from England and as our research showed, from areas close each other.

Our ancestors experienced two World Wars, the denial of being openly able to practice and follow their religious beliefs. Many could neither read or write and whilst to us it would seem impossible...there was no electricity, telephones, running water from a tap inside your house. The mode of transport is walking or if you were lucky, you may have had a horse.

As we have in this generation been able to witness man landing on the moon, our past generations experienced and marveled at such things as the radio, television and the invention of aircraft in which people could fly from one country to another like a bird in the sky.

With each generation of each family, as they moved forward through time, experienced so many things, as will future generations that follow...

My name is David Chard and it was my daughter, Belinda that got me hooked on genealogy and to research the various branches of our family. We live in Sydney, Australia and with the assistance of family who still live in Wales we were able to trace our line of CHARD back to the 1600s and to a village by the name of Chewstoke, Somerset. As we mentioned earlier we also trace the name of BUGDEN...COLE...CRAWFORD...and..... YOUNG
