My darling Chelsea, |
Time goes by so very quickly. Since the time you were born on August 8, 1997 at 5:37 pm we all knew that you were a 6 lb. 6 oz. bundle of Luck for all of us who have been involved in your life. |
I was the lucky one when your mother Polly went back to work. I started looking after you when you were 4 months until you were 22 months old when you started attending Canada Goose Daycare. Every Monday it was Chelsea's time and we discovered together many things. Clients in Boston, HK, Malaysia etc. knew that your day was not a day I could do work. Wow! That's a first for me too - putting clients behind myself. |
Your mom was great and gave me special instructions to look after you with appropriate attention. See notes. She also brought me oftentimes my dinner, I was so tired trying to keep up with your wonderful loving but high energy. You exhaust me. |
You're pretty lucky to have your Uncle Allan (Kow Fu) in Beijing who sends over those incredibly cute shoes and all that trendy clothes. The Tai Tai's in Kerrisdale ask us where we get those hip velcro boots or sandals! And he bought and set you up a compact video disk so that you can watch Bampbi (Bambi) and Sleeping Beauty in Mandarin. Seems your favourites are Little Mermaid, Madeline and Barney.. |
Xie Xie, f'ank you is one of your frequent sayings. You have the best manners. You correct grown-ups and asked once " Jonathan, don't you want to say thank you to me?" You are so right; we were all taken aback. And so cute on the routine we have discovered together. "Shall I show you again?...." Here's a few of my favourite moments:: |
Kerrisdale: JB Hoy market, the Koo's always give you a cookie + put you in the shopping cart which you seem to like. Girly is especially nice to you. At Moore's bakery, you like the birds nest cookies and at Michelle's you gobble the Portugese egg tart Dan Tart. You like Cha Siew Bow's too and not a cheap date when we go for Dim Sum at your instistence. Yeh-Yeh choked when we went out for Japanese food and you ate two of those caviar sushis!! He has never tasted any. hehehe.... |
Granville Island Market: Feeding the birds + wandering thru the market. All those yummy foods. Usually you will fall asleep on the way home. |
David Lam Park: They have everything at this brand new park which is perfect for you - swings, slides, park, water and open space. Plus we have special privileges at the Concord Sales office so we always have parking! |
Robson Street: After stops at Sweatco (you're a hit - everyone thinks you are cute. You like the mirrors in the studio), sometimes the Library (the main hall and children section - dollhouse + computers!) which can keep you entertained for more than an hour, and Club Monaco and Aritzia staff all love you. They give you stickers, balloons, etc. |
Choices market: You like the children's shopping carts + like acting very grown up. Reminds me of I Love Lucy. |
Aquarium: Fish were fascinating but you were not too amused by Whale or Lizards. The birds in the tropical forest were fascinating for you. You like French Fries at the Zoo |
Kit'ilano Beach: Watching you discover the sinking feeling of sand - your eyes roll &; you giggle lots was a special moment on one Saturday afternoon. We walked the seawall underneath Point Grey Road from Kit?'s Pool to the foot of MacDonald. I carried you up the stairs in your stroller but you walked the rest. |
Spanish Banks: Many walks along this tranquil strip of beautiful Vancouver. |
Goh Ballet Academy: Amazing how you are riveted watching the dancers practice. You clap as each row finishes its rehearsal of the routine! At 3 now, mommy Polly takes you to ballet lessons which you love. Maybe its the pink outfit? Your favourite colour is pink. (Anika's is brown) |
Music: From Bob Marley raggae, Macy Gray to live jazz at Colin Kwok's studio or the Granville Island market, you seem to have a musical ear. You dapple on my piano and like dancing to music from Sound of Music and King and I. You also like Andrea Boicelli, Charlotte Church and range of classical music. You ask to watch "vee vee" [TV] but know in my house "No vee vee" which you often voltunteer on your own. Instead, sometimes you to the piano and play and sing for me. |
Chelsea, you have been a special part of my life and I am grateful to be a part of your life too. I heard you recently say "No Problem" which is wonderful attitude throughout life. You are great at puzzles and have an incredible memory and logic. This photo journal is tribute to you and those who are a part of your life - your Family. > next Compiled by your Goo Goo |
