Comprehensive Evaluation: Assessment of student needs includes family history, academic, and psychological/psychiatric evalutation
Coordination of Services with other Agencies: A social worker is available to assist families in dealing with other state or local agencies such as Juvenile Court, Department of Family and Children Services, Social Security, Georgia Regional Hospital, Vocational Rehabilitation, or private psychiatric services.

Coastal Academy
--is a part of the continuum of services provided by the school system.
--provides a therapeutic all day program for students with severe emotional problems.
--assists students, families and schools in understanding and coping with a troubled environment.
--actively involves parents in meeting family needs.
--focuses on student development in the areas academics, behavior, socialization and communication.
--focuses on the needs of the student, emphasizing transitioning the student back to regular school, into the community and work force, or into post-secondary training after graduating with a Special Education Diploma.
