From 1844 to 1882 he resided in Chariton county, coming to this county and making his home Bucklin in 1882. He served as a judge of the county court from the Eastern district from 1882-84. He was elected and served one term as presiding judge of the county court and made a splended record as a county official. His funeral, which was largely attended took place at Bucklin Wednesday.
