Mike was born April 24, 1957, in McMinnville, Oregon.
Mike attended Auntie Nona's Pre-School, Adams grade school, McMinnville JR. High School, and McMinniville High School.
After High School Mike attended Mt. Hood Community College, after one term he went to work in McMinnville, and stayed there for the next five years. In 1980 Mike attended Chemeketa Community College for one year before moving on to Oregon State University where he graduated with a degree in History in 1985.
In 1985 and 1986 Mike coached football for McMinnville High School.Also in 1985 Mike took a trip to the local Thriftway Store one night to get a bite to eat. He parked in front of a video store and went inside to get a movie. There behind the counter was The women who he fell in love with and would marry 11 months later.[The song a different corner by George Michael has a specisal meaning to Mike and Debbie]
Mike and Debbie have 4 kids and a Granddaughter. The kids range from 24 to 9 and the Granddaughter Z is 3 years old.
Mike loves sports, he grew up the son of a coach, was a player, and later a coach himself. Mike and Debbie have coached basketball together,they have coached baseball together for the past 6 years and have coached football together for the past 3 years.
You could say that Mike enjoys the outdoors and that is why Mike fell in love with Alaska. Mike and Debbie love to hike,cross country ski,backpack, play tennis, ride bikes and fish, as well as camp.
