Some Good Information For You.
Remember I said I was in elementary school? Well, I've made many friends there and they sure know a lot about me and my other dinosaur friends and families so I'd like to share some of it with you before we go on
Here is what my best school friend, told me one day.
"Dinosaurs are reptiles. Most of them ate meat and some were vegetarians. Some were mean and some were nice. Duck-billed dinosaurs were nice and the babies could swim and the mommy and daddy could scare T-Rex away because they were as big as T-Rex was." My friend said, "There were a lot of dinosaurs and it was too bad the children today didn't live when they did so they could discover more about them but that they would have to be careful because there were meat eaters!!"
My friend was right. The children also told me all this about dinosaurs:
The first dinosaur fossils were found about 1820 in Europe.
In 1841, Professor Richard Owen gave these gigantic animals the name "deinos, meaning terrible, and saurus, meaning lizard. That's how the name dinosaur started.
The dinosaurs colors are not known for sure but were probably earth colors like, yellow, gray, brown and green.
There were different kinds of dinosaurs:
SAUROPODS, the biggest.
HADROSAURS, were duck-billed and known as "The Wary Giants".
TYRANNOSAURUS, "The Waddling Killer", is the most famous.
CERATOPSIANS, THE "Horned dinosaurs" These are just a few.
Different kinds of dinosaurs lived at different times.
(1) TRIASSIC 245-208 Million years ago.
(2) EARLY AND MIDDLE JURASSIC, 208-157 million years ago.
(3) LATE JURASSIC 157-146 million years ago. (4) EARLY CRETACEOUS 146-97 million years ago.
(5)LATE CRETACEOUS 97-65 million years ago.
People who dig for and find dinosaur bones are called "Paleontologists".
There is so much more I could tell you but I know you want to move on so let's go see what else there is!
