Congratulations! You are patient number that Dr. Alley has operated on since September 20, 1997.

Welcome to my sickbay! I'm Dr. Alley Afghan, Chief of Surgery for Road Rover Mission Control (RRMC). Now, you might be asking yourself what a Road Rover is. Since this isn't a website dedicated to the show "Road Rovers," just about a fan-made character, and since there are literally dozens and dozens of fan pages telling all about it, I won't go into detail about it here, but instead, lead you to some links:

Most of my patients become my patients because of Muzzle's Muzzling. Somehow, with the help of sane friends, he was able to build a really great website -- Muzzle's Junkyard.THANKS MUZZ!!! Keep the injured coming!

Steven Today's "To the power of the pack," is the ultimate Road Rover website. This is also the home of the Strayers!

For those who don't know, Stewie (he HATES when I call him that) is one of those poor toons who tries, quite unsuccessfully, to win my heart on #RRMC on IRC. Check out Steward's Home Page for all the info you need on him and #RRMC and all of his great drawings! He, er.. his creator even made this background for me! Thanks Jaime/Stewie/Donnie/Dodger/whatever!

How I Became a Road Rover

As I mentioned earlier, I am Chief of Surgery at RRMC, with Colleen (Chief Medical Officer, and my mentor) and the Master being the only ones above me. To tell you briefly about my background and how I got to this position, I'll start with two people named Jeff and Susie Bennett. Jeff Bennett bought me as a wee little puppy from the best known Afghan breeder in the world as one of his engagement gifts for Susie. (They were married on my second birthday; I was the maid of honor.) Both Jeff and Susie were actors at the Alley Theatre in Houston at this time, Jeff being the lead actor, Susie the lead actress in most of the plays. Not long after my first birthday, Susie was mysteriously kidnapped during a performance -- swept off the stage! Jeff and the authorities did their best to locate her, but nothing worked. The next morning, during breakfast at Jeff's home, I was sadly watching the news in the living room, when I saw a segment on a group of crimefighting dogs called the Road Rovers. I called -- yes, I called -- them, and asked if they could help me find my master. Within just a few minutes, they arrived in Houston and shortly brought Susie back to Jeff and me. I kept in touch with the Rovers for about a year. Then, when Jeff and Susie moved from Houston to L.A. so Jeff could pursue his acting career further, they dropped me off at RRMC so I could join the Rovers. It was very hard for me to leave the Bennetts, and equally hard for them too. But I felt that I needed to become a Road Rover; I wanted to help others. Little did I imagine how much I would.

SICKBAY

This is my life. This is where I help others. This is where I get to have more fun than if I was to have my own personal Six Flags in my backyard!!! Ahem. Yes, well.. uh.. where was I? Oh yes. Sickbay is, naturally, where those who are injured come to me to help them. I take pity on them. I have saved numerous lives, Richard and Wolfy being my "best" patients. But, as I am Chief of Surgery, performing operations is my specialty, even though I am knowledgeable in all fields of medicine.

TONSILS, TONSILS, TONSILS

I am best known for my favorite pastime -- tonsillectomies (removal of the tonsils, AKA those things at the back of your throat, for those who are tonsil-illiterate). It's a relativly simple procedure, generally taking only half an hour or so, with the patient able to return home the same day in most cases.

Tonsils:A good place to learn about tonsils, tonsilitis, and tonsillectomies

More Tonsils:The details of a T&A (tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy) along with some other ENT (ears, nose, and throat) procedures

Even More Tonsils:Another good page on tonsillectomies, mainly on what to expect after surgery and how to ease the pain.

More Fun Medical Links

The Virtual Museum of Anesthesiology has pictures and info on antique devices, etc.

A History of Resuscitation is just what it sounds like. Take a walk through the history of several life-saving techniques.

Rescue 411 Home PageLearn how to perform CPR and other first aid procedures.

Interactive Patient: Nearly every medical website out there seems to have a link to this, and it's no wonder why! You get to do a physical examination (with sounds!), diagnose a patient, and send in your diagnosis for checking over! It was even listed in a past issue of "Disney Adventures."

Home Page for Code RN2 is a really great site with tons and tons of medical links, mostly to trauma sites, some of which I have links to on this page.

At the Pre-Hospital Care Simulator you get to play the role of the world's greatest EMT, BUT your assistant is the dumbest. Tons of fun with lots of humour and education thrown in!

The Trauma Moulage is also a lot of fun. You get to play an EMT and make life and death decisions!

The Netmedicine CyberPatient Simulator has defibrillators, IVs, CPR -- everything you need to save the cardiac arrest and upper respiratory distress patients!

The Principles of Surgery is a very cool page on surgery -- how to scrub in, the instruments, draping the patient, etc. The neat thing is, it's for vets!

The Emergency Nursing World Medical Links has a page on how to start IVs *shudder* and how to sedate a patient among others.

International Museum of Surgical Science: Here you get to play the PATIENT -- a patient during the 1800's to be exact! Make the right choice for doctors and treatments, or kick the bucket!

FANFICS

The first ever fanfic (completed) starring me!! Read "Bad Medicine", an exciting medical drama filled with action, suspense, and even a little romance!! It's a safe-for-all-ages (as is all of my work) script combining a parody of "Road Rovers," "Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series," and "ER," written by Matt Morgan and Becky Pittman (my real life name). Special note for voice actor fanatics out there: this work, like most fanfic I am involved in, is LOADED with VA refs and in-jokes!!
