STREET SKATING TRICK TIPS:
The Ollie:
step 1- Place your front foot on the middle of the board, and your back foot at the tail. This allows you to get good air.
step 2-Smash tail downward while jumping up. Once the board pops up, slide front foot up from the middle to the nose. The secret is to time your jumps.
step 3- Once your airborne, level the board.
step 4- Land, don't lean too far forward or backwards!
Backside Noseslide:
Approach obstacle at medium speed, parallel to it. Ollie w/ your body swining front side. Press down on the nose and make sure your weight is centered over nose and slightly rear. Don't lean forward! Slide until you slow down or wanna land. Land on your back wheels and pivot the nose away from the object.
Frontside Fifty-Fifty:
Ollie and try to level board as you back truck towards the edge. When backtruck makes contact with the edge, front truck down in a 50-50 postion. Try to land top of curb with just 2 heel side wheels hanging over the edge. Remain on the top of the board. Grind along till u slow down. Front truck pivot away and level off for a smooth landing.
Heel Flip and Ollie Flip combo:
Like an ollie flip, except board spins toward toe then heel edge. Learn to ollie flip first! Here's how u do it: Ollie and kick the leading front foot toward toe side edge of nose, rather than the heel side for ollie flip. Leading foot place behind front bolts, not center like an ollie. Ollie up and push down with trailing foot and kick foward to the toe side edge with leading foot. This will make the board spin. As it spins, "catch" it with your feet once top side again.
360 Flip:
Position feet like a kick flip, w/ tow slid back toward the heel-edge of board. Your rear foot should be positioned with toe on the opposite corner of board aka "toe edge tail". Rolling along at a moderately low speed, pop an ollie but as you kick front for a flip, wing back front foot under and behind. This will rotate the board as it spins. When the nose comes back around, and the grip tape shows up, stick feet back on and land.
Wall Ride:
There are two versions to this trick. The Backside Wall Ride and the Frontside Wall Ride. Here's how you do both:
Backside: This is difficult because you're blinded, so before you try to pull it off, make sure you have a feel where the board is.Approach the wall at a 45 degree angle, toe on the toe edge corner of the tail and the heel of your front foot hanging back off the edge of board, just behind the front bolts. As you approach the wall, ollie and scoop the board behind you as your back presses against the wall. Use your hand to keep from slamming against the wall as the back wheels hit the wall. Continue to push board along with rear foot while guiding it along the arc of ur foot. Keep nose up as you turn and desend. Front wheels will hit first, so keep most of your weight on your rear foot until back wheels land.
Frontside: Follow same steps as backside, until you are almost at the wall. Here, you ollie and scoop the board in front of you. Keeping in mind that all 4 wheels should hit the wall at the same time. Use your rear hand from keeping your face and torso from slamming into the wall. Push yourself along like that of a backside. When you go to desend make sure that as your front wheels hit the ground that you push yourself away from the wall.
