Welcome to me. I am a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, and a mathematics instructor at the United States Naval Academy. I recently completed the Operations Research and MBA programs at the Naval Postgraduate School. I studied Systems Engineering at the University of Arizona, and now serve as a Command and Control Systems Officer in the Marine Corps.
My wife Melissa, our sons Jonathan and Christopher, and I came here after living in Pebble Beach, California, and Kailua, Hawaii. Before that, we were at the University of Arizona (see my short bio for more information).

What do I think?

I think you should get up from your computer and read one of these books right now (drop me a note if you'd like to borrow my copy):

Leadership
Klein, Gary. Sources of Power: How People Make Decisions
Gardner, Howard. Leading Minds: An Anatomy of Leadership
Grossman, LtCol Dave. On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society
Cialdini, Robert B. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion
McCain, John. Faith of my Fathers: A Family Memoir

Human Factors
Norman, Donald A. The Design of Everyday Things
Norman, Donald A. Things That Make Us Smart
Tufte, Edward R. The Cognitive Style of Powerpoint

And, watch this movie:
The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert McNamara

These are not quite as crucial, but I liked them:
Fiction and Humor
Heinlein, Robert A. Startship Troopers
Card, Orson Scott. Ender's Game
Queenan, Joe. Red Lobster, White Trash, and the Blue Lagoon
Sedaris, David. Me Talk Pretty One Day
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
The Princess Bride

And, turn off your television. It's really bad for you. We stopped watching TV when the kids were born, and have gotten used to life without it. I know it's hard to imagine in the 21st century, but you can actually survive (and even drive children across the country) without television and non-stop videos.
