Delphi is my four month old female yellow Lab. I got her on June 10th,1998. Her parents are Roddy (her dad) and Moraga.(her mom) She's already a pretty big dog! She weighs 25 pounds already. Delphi is a very special dog. She is a guide dog puppy-in-training. She is being raised to be a guide dog for a blind person someday. (I hope) Delphi's life began April 10th, 1998, when
she was born at Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafeal, CA. Her litter was
assigned a letter: they start with "A" then for each litter another
letter, they go on through the whole alphabet and back again. People ask
me, "How'd she get they name 'Delphi'?" and I say, "I didn't
pick it! Guide Dogs for the Blind did." They get some pretty interesting
names sometimes! I've heard of Cheddar, Caravan, Cheerio, Pontiac, and other
weird names! After Delphi got her letter, volunteers looked at her and thought up the name Delphi. After that, volunteers and trainer's assistants would take her for walks and get her used to the leash and collar. Then they pulled up my application that I had turned in in May 1998. They called me on June 3rd and told me about Delphi. And I picked her up one week later on June 10th 1998. Do you want to raise a guide dog? If so click here. I've raised two other dogs before, Lena and Katlyn. For info on them, click on their names! And last but not least, want to learn about me? Check out "Stacey's autobiography." |
