The intended purpose of this chip is to allow you to use your Playstation to play imports and backups of software that you legally own, as is allowed by law. I accept no responsibility for the use of this device to play copies of games you do not own. Support software authors! Using the PSX-Activator to modify your console will void your warranty. As with any modification not performed by a professional, improper installation could damage your Playstation. It is for this reason, we will not be responsible for damages caused by this modification to units modified outside of our facilities. All chips are verified and tested in actual units before shipping and the limit of my liability shall be that you receive a functional chip. The chip is a commonly available microcontroller programmed with special code that allows the use of Non-US games/Backup CDs. It was not programmed by Sony Corp or any of it's representatives or affiliates. This modification is neither endorsed nor sanctioned by SCEA and as such, they bear no responsibilities for it's use with their product.
