Bill Watterson, "William B. Watterson II", is the genius behind the Calvin and Hobbes Comic strips. He has been drawing them for the last ten years and they have been, for that time, the best-drawn, most imaginative, and least commercialized comic strip in America. He believes that his work should be admired for its quality rather than how much money it makes him and it is for this reason that you will never find mass-produced Calvin and Hobbes goods in the same way as you might find products promoting other cartoon characters.
However, despite the worldwide admiration of Watterson and his cartoons, he has concluded that the era should end and as of December 31st, 1995, he has stopped drawing the lovable duo. His reasons for this sad decision are made apparent in The Tenth Anniversary of Calvin and Hobbes, which I suggest you go out and buy immediately. Yes, even if it is ten o'clock at night, you should go out right now and set up a vigil outside your local bookstore till opening time. It's that good. And when you've done that and read and inwardly digested its hilarity you can write to Bill thanking him for all the laughs he's given us at:
