Martina has just signed a deal with Ocean Spray. Martina will be their spokesperson, and she will feature in their future adverts and stuff.

Sunday 15th March 1998
Martina defeated Lindsay Davenport today in straight sets, after the match was delayed for two hours because of rain. Martina walked away with only her second title of the season, in her debut in the tournament with a 6-3 6-4 win. Martina was playing so well, that she even played left handed on one point, when she was stretched out wide on the backhand side!

Friday 13th March 1998
Martina avenged her loss to Venus Williams today, when she defeated her 6-0 7-6 (9-7). She will now meet Lindsay Davenport in the final, with the hope of avenging her other loss of the year!

Thursday 12th March 1998
Martina suffered her first doubles loss of the season partnering Mirjana against Lindsay Davenport and Natasha Zvevera in a tough three st battle. The top seeds eventually won 6-7 (1-7) 7-5 6-2.
Wednesday 11th March 1998
Martina set up a semi final showdown with Venus Williams when she defeated Conchita Martinez in straight sets. Martina fought back from a 1-5 deficit in the second set to win 6-1 7-5.

Tuesday 10th March 1998
Martina and Mirjana showed who is the better teenage team today, when they defeated the William's Sister's in three sets, 7-5 4-6 6-1. They will play Lindsay Davenport and Natasha Zvereva in the semi final.
It's quite amazing that Martina has only paired with Mirjana for three tournaments, but had to play Davenport and Zvereva EVERY time!! (Martina and Mirjana coming out on top in both their two previous encounters, both in finals!=o)).
Monday 9th March 1998
Martina defeated Meike Babel in straights sets to win a place in the quarter finals. Martina won 6-2 6-0 in 51 minutes, and will play the winner of the match between Anna Kournikova and Conchita Martinez.
Martina and Mirjana will play Venus and Serena Williams in their doubles quarter-final match.

Saturday 7th March 1998
Martina eased into the third round with a straight sets win over Sarah Pitkowski 6-1 6-2. She will play Meike Babel (GER).
Martina and Mirjana also won their second round match against Barabanschikova/Serna 6-3 6-7 (4-7) 7-5. They will now play the winner of an interesting match between S. Williams/V. Williamsb and C.Martinez/P. Tarabini.

Wednesday 4th March 1998
Martina has received a Bye for the first round. She will play the winner of the match between Fusai (FRA) and Sarah Pitkowski (FRA).
Martina pairs up with Mirjana Lucic again in the doubles event.

Monday 2nd March 1998
Martina will be playing at the State Farm Evert Cup, better known as Indian Wells, which begins on March 4th.
