I like gymnastics a lot! So I decided to dedicate this page to the 1996 Olympic Women's Gymnastics Gold Medalist Team! In here I will write a little something about the gymnasts and have pictues of them! Hope you like this page!
Amanda Borden was the captain of the
team! She has just turned 20 on May 10th! She has one brother
named Bryan. Amanda is one of those people that like to liven up
things when they're down!
Shannon Miller is a woman who loves a
challenge! She is known as America's Most Decorated Gymnast! At
the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona Shannon brought home five medals:
two silvers and three bronzes, but at the 1996 Olympics in
Atlanta, she completed her medal colection with an Olympic Gold
on the balance beam!
Jaycie Phelps was the first gymnast to
start off the competition for the USA girls on the Uneven Bars!
Jaycie said that the crowd gave them the extra edge! In 1993 she
was ready to quit! She totally lost the love for the sport!
Dominique Moceanu is the youngest gymnast
to compete in the Olympics! Dominique has a long-term goal to be
in sports medicine! Hopefully we will see her in the upcoming
2000 Olympics in Sydney!
Dominique Dawes has had her coach Kelly
Hill since she started gymnastics in 1983! She has two siblings,
Danielle, and Don. Dominique is known for her back to back
tumbling done while she was young!
Amy Chow is a quiet person. She has a
brother that is named Kevin. In the olympics Amy just wanted to
get into the finals, but for her the Silver was just an extra
token!
Kerri Strug had mixed emotions on that
night! She was excited to win, but mad that her injury was
keeping her from the finals!
