This site is devoted to the Russian Sport and two of it's most influential players, Slava Fetisov and Igor Larionov. From their beginnings within the Russia Hockey System to Slava's retirement as a player in NHL and becoming a Stanley Cup winning Assistant Coach with the New Jersey Devils and most recently becoming a new member of the HOF along with being coach and GM of the 2002 Russian Olympic team; to Igor's one year contract with the Detroit Red Wings; this site is done to honor their accomplishments.
Igor on Slava as a teammate: "We have gone through so much - the Olympics, Canada Cup, World Cup, world championships," says Igor. "We fought the system and won our freedom. We have been friends for over 25 years and to finish with two Stanley Cups is incredible."

Earned Soviet Player of the Year honors in 1987-88 and was named to five all-star teams with the Central Red Army. Accomplished veteran of various international competitions with Soviet National Team, including capturing gold medals in both the 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympics, a gold medal in the 1983 Word Championships. Played for Team Russia in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. Named Captain of the World All Star Team in the 1998 All Stars game. Was key contributor in winning the Stanley Cup in 1997, 1998, and 2002 with the Detroit Red Wings.

Slava Fetisov
Slava was the longtime captain of the Central Red Army team, which he joined in 74-75. During which time he played for many years as part of the defensive pairing for the Larionov line (Krutov-Larionov-Makarov). During his time with the Central Red Army, Slava also played with Sergei Fedorov and Vladimir Konstantinov. He earned the Soviet "Honored Masters of Sport" award (equivalent of the Hockey Hall of Fame) three times, in 1984, 1986, and 1990. Fetisov won the Gold Stick Award as Europe's top player; Soviet Player of the year three times (1982, 1986, 1988); Pravda Trophy four times as league's top-scoring defensemen. Was named nine times to the Soviet League All Star team. Slava participated and medaled three times in the Winter Olympics, Silver in 1980, and Golds in 1984 and 1988. He also participated in 11 World Championships. Played for Team Russia in the 1996 inaugural World Cup of Hockey. Was a Commissioner's Selection to the 1997 All Star game; and was voted into the Starting Lineup of the World All Star Team in the 1998 All Stars game. Was a key contributor in winning the Stanley Cup in 1997 and 1998 with the Detroit Red Wings.
