What is Korfball ?

Korfball is a mixed gender team sport. At first glance, it shares a few characteristics with basketball and net ball. For more information on the sport itself: please consult
!

There is a field and indoors competition. Ten years ago, the field version still required a three-sector field and twelve players. (And if your encyclopaedia is a bit dated, that may be the version you'll find there!) But the two-sector game is faster, more spectacular and made it easier for teams outside the Low Countries to compete. In 1997, the European university championship saw a final game between Brno and Warsaw! The game is becoming more international, with English universities pulling a lot of weight.

Who are Floriant Merelbeke?

Our fields and club house are situated behind the swimming pool, between the Sport Street and the Gaverse Steenweg in the town of Merelbeke, some 5 miles South of Gent-Belgium. Have a look at the map. Indoor matches are played in the adjacent sports centre.
