The Coritiba Foot Ball Club was founded on 12 October 1909 by a group composed of teenagers who belonged to the German Colony of the Brazilian State of Paraná . In 1916 it won its first regional championship (Paraná League), being in 1973, for the first time in its history, the National Champion after winning the "Torneio do Povo", in the city of the Salvador, a contest in which it had the opportunity of playing together with famous teams. In its trips to foreign countries it shows to have the same performance of a great team. This performance could be appreciated by the public when it became the Brazilian Champion in 1985, the most important victory of its whole existence. We have no doubts that it was a deserved prize given to the doyen of the soccer teams of Paraná. Le Coritiba Foot Ball CLub a été fondé le 12 octobre 1909 par un groupe de jeunes gens de l'État du Paraná - la plupart d'entre aux étaient d'origine allemand - et il devait remporter en 1916 son premier championnat regional. En 1973, il disputa et remporta son premier titre national - le "Torneio do Povo"- contre de équipes de grand renom. Au cours des tournées qu'il a déjà effectuées à l'étranger, il a prové qu'il a l'étoffe d'une grande équipe, ce qui a été confirmé lorsqu'il a remporté la plus grande victoire de toute son histoire - le titre de Champion du Brésil 1985 - victoire san nul doute bien méritée de la part de ce club, le plus ancien du Paraná.
